On arrival Bungalow appeared to be clean and tidy but was very disappointed when went in bathroom as mildew on tiles ( there are products on the market that can get rid of this ) was very off putting. Had to clean along bath edge by shower screen and shower head before wanting to use. And felt that generally there was a very distinct damp smell/feeling to Bungalow. On the positive side only a 15 min walk to town and all though on a hill we did not find this difficult . In fact we enjoyed the walk. Lovely views from kitchen window. Bed was reasonably comfortable despite there being a piece of wood under the mattress which I discovered when catching my leg on it when getting into bed. We have an estate car and found no problem parking on drive. Was a little concerned about freshness of bed linen after reading a previous review but pleased to say found them clean and fresh. So all in all a bit of a mixed bag ,To sum up think Bungalow is just in need of a little T.L.C.

The property was nicely furnished, very clean and well equipped. We were looking for a functional base for our holiday - essentially somewhere to eat and sleep and this property fulfilled our requirements perfectly. As advised, the drive is narrow, but with care it did not present a problem (we were driving a VW Touran). Like most properties in Looe, getting anywhere involved hills and narrow roads which might challenge the more nervous driver. A nice touch was the selection of games and books left in the property as well as lots of information about the local area and tourist attractions. Overall, excellent value for money, provided everything we needed and we encountered no problems during our stay.

The beds were uncomfortable. There was a damp and musty smell on all bed coverings and even the tea towels, this smell stuck to our clothes. Although appearing clean on entering it soon became apparent that there was underlying grime and dirt throughout. I recommend a thorough spring clean is carried out before renting this property again.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are disappointed with the comments regarding the cleanliness of the property and the "musty" smell on the clean linen. We can only say the guests concerned were there for 2 weeks and this included a linen change after the first week. It is disappointing these matters were not raised at the time when the linen was changed, as a problem with the iron was raised and subsequently resolved with a new one. Incidentally, the linen etc. was washed in bold and lenor fabric conditioner used, all dried in a tumble drier.

The drive is not just narrow, it also curves with a low fence one side that you cannot see and a low wall the other side that you cannot see, and a bent council signpost at the entry to the shared drive, combining to make entry and exit of the drive a nightmare/impossible unaided. We parked on the road to the other residents annoyance! We only choose holiday homes with a drive you can use.

Lovely place to stay. Will definitely come back. Lots of fabulous walking all around. We had a sunny week and had a long walk every day. Lots of choice in Looe for eating out.
