Breathtaking views

These four fine detached holiday properties with breathtaking views over Cardigan Bay, are furnished to a very good standard and are just 100 yards from the cliff top. Gwbert-on-Sea is a small, quiet hamlet on the eastern shore of the mouth of the Teifi Estuary, just a couple of miles outside Cardigan. The settlement takes its name from a wandering saint. St Gwbert is said to have landed here and sheltered in a cave. The shoreline is marked by rugged cliffs and small shingle bays, with large stretches of sandbank exposed at low tide, and the area gives superb views over a diverse and scenic landscape. The ancient oak woodland of the Teifi Valley, the tidal marshes of the estuary, and the boundary of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park can all be appreciated from here. The 18-hole golf course, the home of Cardigan Golf Club, also offers fine views of the estuary and sea, and from the headland you can look across to Cardigan Island. The mud and sand flats of the estuary attracts a great variety of birds. In the autumn such waders as the redshank, oystercatcher and curlew can be seen feeding here, along with several species of migrating duck. The headland of Craig y Gwbert is the site of an Iron Age Fort. Pieces of pottery have also been found near Gwbert, and are now on display in Cardigan museum. Leisure facilities are available for £5 per person per day at the owner’s hotel, and include small gym, sauna and 7 seater jacuzzi. Shops 31/2 miles, pub 100 yards.

Lovely clean and spacious, not on top of each other. Private warm and cosy. Only one thing that needs looking at is more steps to reach the hot tub alright if have very long legs not so good for us shorties needed one to push me up and one to pull. Lol. 😁

A very nice house with plenty of space for everyone. The hot tub was nice but you need to be aware that you pay extra for it and getting in and out is only for the very able. We took 2 dogs with us. The garden needs a couple of gates to make it dog proof. Also you cannot eat inside in the hotel with a dog unless you sit in the conservatory which only seats 6. As you can't leave the dog on the house we ended up eating in two sittings as there were 8 of us. No other dog friendly places within walking distance so mostly we drove out to eat.

The House was well equipped, in a great location and comfortable, and the swim hot tub was excellent. The owners were welcoming and the pub was outstanding for a meal and drink. The views of the house were fabulous and we were lucky enough to have superb weather. The only 2 minor issues I have is the height of the hot tub compared to the steps provided, it did prove difficult to get in and out and some of the doors in the house need self closers on to reduce the noise levels.

Great location behind Gwbert hotel and great facilities. Shame about the tight parking on the driveway with the smaller property having a good parking area. Hotel were great and quick to resolve an issue we had when oven tripped electicity.

We were a family of 12 with ages ranging from 2 years to 70years. There was a plentiful supply of kitchen equipment but not enough mugs and water glasses. Good wet weather facilities and plentiful supply of televisions! The one downside of the house was that it was incredibly noisy due to the lack of soft flooring. When all of us were eating in the kitchen it was nearly unbearable. Beautiful table and chairs but why not put felt circles and the chair feet? Also one small point, all the bathrooms were showing signs of age with mould on a lot of the grouting. Difficult I know to make guests ventilate the rooms properly but easily remedied.
