Only minimum essentials supplied for 3 people. Single bed has springs coming through mattress, very uncomfortable. Uneven floor hidden by carpet in upstairs hall resulted in slight trips and spilt drinks. The hot water system for bath/shower was hit and miss and no instructions eg we discovered that by putting the shower head on the floor of the bath we could get hotter water. It didn't have the usual method of changing the water from bath to shower either which we had to work out ourselves. Location of nearest shop and recommendations for eating out would have been helpful. There were lots of leaflets but many are out of date, probably left by previous guests and need sorting out. On the plus side the cottage was very clean and the heating came on morning and evening which was very welcome.

The cottage was in a nice area and position although rather hilly, could do with some updating. The owners were lovely

Wonderful little cottage immaculately clean and with everything you could possibly want for a short stay. Super position with lots to do in the area and in the surrounding area.

Warmly welcomed by Mr and Mrs Jenkins - cottage basic but all amenities are there. Views from terrace and bedroom to die for, lots to do and see in a reasonable distance. Very relaxing place to use as a base (don`t forget to go shopping before you get there!) Local shops for basics - don`t forget to go to the Saracens Head Inn! Would be very happy to recommend and go back again.................... Donna and Steve

The cottage has a stunning view and you can walk down to the river, though it is very steep. River Wye View Cottage is warm and cosy but the furnishings and decor are dated, however, this is reflected in the price.

The view from the terrace and from sitting in bed is by far the best thing about this cottage. Peaceful location. Well equipped and cosy. Majority of village this end is single track road with passing places, cottage sited on steep road which adds to the tranquility of the place. Terrace perfect for sitting out on. Enjoyed our time in this cottage and the local area, a walk further up the hill leads into woodland and the chance to see deer grazing. Shame there is no village shop to walk to for essentials. Owners welcoming and on hand if needed.

We had a lovely break. View from patio to die for. Bed very comfortable. Kitchen well equipped but would have appreciated cleaning materials for kitchen and foil/cling film. Very cosy

Warm, cosy cottage with two bedrooms, one single, one double. Particularly enjoyed the log burner in the evenings. Kitchen well equipped. Owners were near by and helpful and re-stocker the wood for the burner. Situated on the hillside so a steep climb in the car. Great views over the wye valley and river below. Remember to bring your supplies in the car as a long way to a food store.
