We received a warm welcome from the owner when we arrived who showed us around the property. We were impressed with River Rest and would recommend it to anyone else. Shops were available as well as a restaurants but not within walking distance but there was a local pub close by that sold reasonable food and real ales and the railway station was a short walk from the property from where you can travel to Norwich and Great Yarmouth. Loads of choices of places to go within reasonable reach.

When we arrived at River Rest we were delighted at the position which was on the corner of the waterways so the view was wonderful. The lodge was clean and spacious and the fact that there was an en suite as well as a separate bathroom meant that both bedrooms in effect had their own private facilities. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to make the best of the outside but on a sunny day i can imagine nothing nicer than sitting on the veranda with a glass of wine watching the wildlife and the boats go by. At the end of the lane The Yare pub serves nice food and the train station right next door is ideal for getting into Yarmouth or Norwich. We got a group discount which made the journey really cheap so it was better than driving and paying for parking . Overall we had a lovely holiday and hope to do it again one day in the hope of getting nicer weather. One thing to bear in mind is the fact that you can only fish in the river at certain times f the year so you fishermen need to check on this before booking.

Great place to stay and I would recommend this location It's lovely right on the side of the river but also close to major towns and cities like Wroxham and Norwich plus having the Yare Pub for your first evenings meal after a long drive Recommend 10 out of 10
