Coniston, 10 miles. Ulverston, 16 miles, or a trip to Windermere. Ideal for fishermen, riders, bikers and walkers alike. Shops and pubs 5 miles.

Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Cot. High chair. TV (no reception). DVD. Electric cooker. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Wi-fi.Telephone. Garden and furniture. Barbecue. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking. NB: There is an unfenced river next to the cottage.

Lovely cottage and garden in a superb setting with wonderful walks all around but... cottage needs attention - washing machine was broken, heating did not work, bath taps fell off and there was a mouse in the kitchen! Even so, still had a lovely time.

Enjoyable family holiday. 40 - 60 minutes travelling most days to get to where we wanted, but beautiful scenery to drive through. Disappointed that the oil heating ran out two days before end of stay. Difficult to contact the owner - tried phone and mobile and message, but no reply.

This was most disappointing. The furnishings were in need of replacement and the single beds were extremely old and uncomfortable. The washing machine didn't work, neither did the internet.

Bit of TLC needed for the cottage.

Most beautiful cottage and location I've ever been to in the UK. So many places to walk and the stream and sheep at the bottom of the garden were just so relaxing to listen to! The only down sides to this cottage was that the Wi-Fi didn't work all week, neither did the dish washer, and the bedroom window was incredibly stiff and couldn't be closed. These are very minor issues though, and we will definitely be making this a yearly holiday! Recommend 100%

Stunning location in the middle of the mountains, with a beautiful (if fast flowing!) river at the bottom of the garden, which is only really suitable for children at low flow. The cottage is picturesque, and fairly well equipped, but would benefit from some decoration and cleaning in places.

Quiet Duddon valley, Beswicks and the Manor Arms in Broughton excellent, lovely cottage, close enough to the eastern lakes, but in a setting all it's own....Shhhhh ! keep it a secret.
