This is a fab bungalow/cottage that neighbours a mansion. The owners were not there during our stay which made it all very quiet. The views were fantastic although they are growing a line of fern trees that will eventually block some of this - a real shame. House has all amenities you will need - though the web description is not up to date: there is, for example, a DVD player. Ask and you'll probably find it's there. Great location with a car and was brilliant space for our little one to run around freely and safely. Lots of lovely places to visit and main shops are only a couple of miles away (again the info in the house is not up to date on this). The only downside is that, in reading the comments in the house book, the owners have full access to the neighbouring tennis court. This was not a problem when we were there and, although the gardeners turned up for half a day, no one used it so we had full access to entertain our little one on it. However one couple had commented that a full-blown tennis match had been going on during their stay one day. For the money, I would want to know that this wouldn't happen during my stay and if there is a chance then it should be noted on the web site - just worth asking about. Ultimately it is all part of one estate and this is what you get under those conditions. Brilliant land and space but shared with someone else. I've written a lot on the negative mainly because as I LOVED the serenity, privacy and views and wouldn't want that changed! Don't let this stop you booking but just ask the questions before paying. Forearmed is forewarned and all that.

We had a very peaceful relaxing week at Riffa cottage. The cottage was lovely with plenty of space for 4, it had peaceful surroundings and vast stunning views. We found it to be very private as the manor next to it did not seem to be occupied, and other than a couple of people working on the grounds during the day once or twice we didn't see or hear anyone else at all up there. The cottage was well equipped, and they had kindly left us tea and biscuits when we arrived. The only thing we had to get was a tin opener as the one there didn't work. There were plenty of towels and tea towels provided and plenty of cleaning materials but could have done with more than one cleaning cloth for the whole house and a mop. The washing machine, advertised on some sites as a washer dryer was just a washing machine, but a box of pegs and a washing line were provided. The dishwasher was very much appreciated. The master bedroom and ensuite bathroom were wonderful especially the under floor heating. The outside space was also very peaceful and relaxing. Overall we were very comfortable and made up with the cottage and would definitely stay there again.

Very comfortable and well equiped cottage. Great kitchen all appliances, ovenware, crockery and glassware in good condition. Bedrooms are spacious and well epuiped. En-suite bathroom and shower room well laid out and spotlessly clean. Beautiful location, the views are stunning. Red Kites made very close daily appearances. Recently planted conifers along side the tennis court may restrict the view in the future! Adequate, safe parking area.
