This was our third stay and we enjoyed ourselves immensely as usual. The owner is very helpful and easy to deal with. We are already thinking of returning next year.

Had a lovely stay here. Loved the house, much bigger than it looks in the pictures. Plenty of room for our party of 4adults and 4 kids. The location is great, really beautiful. The only negative is that it could of been cleaner. We had to clean the fridge before use. The chairs in the living room are very tired and dirty. In saying that we all loved the old fashioned look of the house and realise it would cost alot more to stay here if it was more modern and uptodate.

Response on behalf of the owner: The cleanliness of the property and guests comfort and enjoyment is of paramount importance to us. Steps have been taken to ensure that issues of this nature should not occur again.

Lovely location. Home from home, the house was everything we wanted for a family holiday with plenty of space.

Unfortunately, although we had been asked not to go to the property until 4pm, due to it being cleaned, etc., when we arrived, any cleaning that had been done was superficial. It by no means spoilt Red Kite House for us, but we had to spend sometime wiping surfaces, cleaning up under beds and the TV unit. The group before us had not sorted their recycling waste correctly, so the bin was rejected when we put it out. We spent an hour with rubber gloves on sorting out the recycling waste. The general waste had not been emptied either, so when we left, the bin was completely full! Not our fault, but not something the incoming group would have been very happy about. Apart from cleanliness, Red Kite House was a great place to stay. Wonderful views, plenty of room, good utensils in the kitchen and very relaxing after a hectic day.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: Although I'm delighted that you had an excellent stay we apologise for any shortcomings in the standard of cleanliness on this occasion. Thank you for your feedback and I am confident that there wont be a repeat. As is common with holiday cottages, guests are asked to put out bins on a designated day. There is clear signage on the kitchen noticeboard and schedule as to which bin. Unfortunately some guests occasionally forget to do this. The bin cycle alternates fortnightly between recycling and general rubbish. If a bin is not placed out for emptying then the following guests suffer the problem mentioned in the review. We can only apologise and re-iterate that clear instructions are given. The actions taken by you go above and beyond goodwill and we would like to register our gratitude as I'm sure the following guests would also.

Warm, comfortable and well equipped though a little old fashioned. A fixed shower and screen in the downstairs bathroom would be better but would book again.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are planning to upgrade the downstairs bathroom and install a second shower when time and bookings permit. Hopefully it will be done before next year 2018, please look for updated photos on cottages.com.
