This is an odd one as we were the first to stay here (it had just been finished on the afternoon of our arrival). I expect it will improve for subsequent visitors, but I can only base my review on my experience. The hosts were friendly and helpful, they brought matches round when I asked about them and the place was decorated for Christmas, which was really helpful. It's a nice, quiet location (I'm from the area) and it could be a great little place to stay. Unfortunately, it leaked in heavy rain, it was cold and the radiators couldn't keep up (12 degrees in the mornings - not ideal when trying to wash/change a baby). The burner is nice but small, taking your own compacted woodchip things may be less hassle than trying to feng shui in the real logs they kindly drop off for you. Even so, it may take the chill off in winter but it's hardly toasty. The woodchip path to the lodge was so waterlogged we couldn't use it. The floor wasn't sealed so we had to take shoes off at the door but there was no storage/rack so they got wet. The hot-tub is nice but I hope they'll put a lean-to up, or at least somewhere to put your towel and slippers for when it's not so dry outside. Be aware it's a working farm and you have to get out of your car to open and close the gate each time you come/go; not a problem for me but it may be a faff for less mobile folks. All in all, you will probably love it if you get a warm, sunny week, but rubbish weather can ruin it a little too easily for my liking.
