The location of Raven-Cottage is simply superb. In the middle of Needham Market, trains to Cambridge and London. Parking is not a problem if you are willing to go a few steps. The cottage is a good size for two persons. Very comfortable beds.

My stay at Raven cottage was one of mixed feeling,, yes the property is like part of history, lovely beams and feeling of what accommation was like many years ago,, however I found the second bedroom with its low enter doorway, something to watch for, as I did hit my head... maybe a bright yellow strip over doorway might help. also parking is very limited and because of the narrow roadway, one does take a risk parking,,, my car was hit and did damage to back side, scraped paint off and dent... my other problem was sleeping,, beds to firm for my liking,,, but I did find the Needem market area delightful,,,

My main concern was the stairway which I doubt would pass H&S regs - spiral and inadequately equipped handle-wise. As it happened, I was suffering from a back/walking problem and was anxious at using the stairs. The beds though were brilliant - very soft yet firm. We left after a few nights because I couldn't cope physically.

Raven cottage has olde world charm with its exposed beams and brickwork. A good well equipped kitchen and a reasonable bathroom. The boiler takes some getting used to but the wood burner is nice to take root in front of in colder times. Being in the middle of the town parking needs to be considered but was usually easy. Shops pubs and takeaways are all local.
