A very nice cottage. The owner was quick to respond to a few issues and always helpful. Kitchen is small and not the easiest to work in, it for a couple with children would be fine. Lack of storage for food stuffs and work surfaces are restricted - if you enjoy cooking that is! Bathroom and shower room are both very nice.

Stunning and amazing and cosy cottage. Wonderfully in the middle of fields with hill forts galore within hopping distance and endless walks. Friendly neighbours. Few walkable amenities (pub, shop) but it suited us perfectly. Having arrived in a snowstorm, a few more logs than 2 and some kindling to start off the fire on the first night would have been welcome. Nonetheless the heating system is incredibly effective and seems to heat up within 5-minutes.

A nice little cottage, a few small changes like having chopping boards mixing bowls etc and coffee tables a larger TV with a working DVD player and the advertised washing machine would make this place perfect. Also be careful with the door every time we closed it the handle fell off.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your review and we shall certainly look into the detailed points you raise – but just to stress that there certainly is an integrated washing machine in the kitchen next to the sink!

This cottage was "Work In Progress". Quite a bit of rubbish left around especially outside. The sheds were full of junk. No decent table and chairs to sit outside. On arrival had to remove the stinking carcass of a rabbit from down the side alley. Found dog poo in the back garden (there's no gate). Overall, I'd say OK and a nice location.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments and we’re sorry one or two things weren’t up to scratch as most people really love the location and the cottage. There should certainly have been a table and chairs for sitting out and we will look into why they weren’t there. On the incursions of wild life – I’m really sorry about those two things. A gardener comes round every couple of weeks or so to cut the grass and tidy the surrounds but not necessarily on a changeover day. The garden isn’t gated – I’m afraid rabbits could get in anyway – a bit of a hazard of rural Northumberland!

The cottage is in a great location with beautiful views, as for Railway cottage it needs some TLC throughout to bring it back to a good standard and the bushes trimmed at sitting room window to improve the outlook.
