Discover the one time coastal smuggling town of Hastings and medieval Cinque Port town of Rye with its cobbled streets. Picturesque sand dunes and interesting wildlife can be explored at Camber. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile. Properties 27442 and 27443 can be booked to together to accommodate up to 4 guests. Quinces Cottage is a perfect example of space well used. The cottage has everything you need and even though it is compact does not feel small. The owner's really welcomed us and even lent me a pair of wellies as I had forgotten my walking boots and the weather was being particularly British! Pub is walking distance (across a field) and nearby Battle is well worth a visit and very dog friendly if you have the wuff with you.

Digit our Labrador had not seen chickens before and seemed quite fascinated by them so it was a relief to have a shared secure garden where he could wander freely without bothering them and we could relax. He loved the 10 minute walk across the fields to the local village pub as they made a fuss of him and we could enjoy a meal in peace. The cottage is cosy and exactly as described all you need for a few relaxing days away. The owners Andrew and Penny were very welcoming & friendly, thank you for the welcome treats. We don't normally go back to the same cottage but Digit wants too as everything was tailored for him so if he is happy so are we.

First time away without the children. Excellent place to stay. Small but beautifully formed. Everything we needed for a short stay. Lovely welcome and tasty treats. Great base to visit places of interest/beaches & local eateries.

Lovely hosts who made us - and the dogs - very welcome but didn't intrude. Beautiful location with plenty to do and see. Cosy converted stable with a lovely front garden to relax in and allow the dogs to roam

Excellent bijou cottage with really friendly owners. The accommodation is not huge but space is used well and we had a really enjoyable stay. The bedroom is rather fun being in the eaves of the cottage and the bed was really comfortable. I would be cautious if you struggle with stairs as they are quite steep (though the owners kindly leave a torch for night time trips) and there is precious little headroom around the bed but for a short stay this adds to the charm. The eggs and shortbread left were of a very high standard and a friendly touch.

The owners were very welcoming to my dogs and I, and were happy to help with anything should it be needed. The cottage was nice and clean when I arrived and again when I returned for my 2nd week. The large garden area is securely fenced off so dogs can be left to play outside without worry. The local amenities rating is 5 (n/a in my book) because I haven't used any so can't really comment.
