Description

Adjacent to nature reserve, ideal for dog walking, walled garden with terrace and woodburners, Banbury is close by.

Quince Cottage is a detached, stone holiday cottage, built in the late 1800s, which is full of character and charm, with original exposed stonework and beams and great views of the surrounding countryside. Nestled away in the quietest of villages, Quince Cottage has all of the delights of a peaceful location, being adjacent to a shared 8-acre nature reserve, and is perfect for dog walking, exploring and watching the local wildlife in their own environment. Backing onto the local church and perfect for walkers, there are many public footpaths that lead through the village. The 12th century village pub is a 2-minute walk away and serves home-cooked food and local ales. The nearby village of Tysoe, 3 miles, has a shop selling local produce and goods. For guests wishing to explore a little further afield, but still within easy driving distance, there is the opportunity to visit many of the local Cotswold villages, including Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold, Broadway, Chipping Campden and Chipping Norton. Only 8 miles away from the historic market town of Banbury, guests will find plenty of places to eat and shop and also see the famous statue of the ’Lady on a white horse’. Also within 30 minutes’ drive are Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick Castle and Leamington Spa, whilst within an hour, visitors can reach Oxford, Bicester Village Designer Outlet, Althorpe Park, Silverstone and the NEC. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

Drafty cottage very cold at times. Towels very rough. Many steps some chipped and unsafe. Had to go out to specially buy a box of matches to light a fire. Steps outside very slippery when wet. Only positives were absolutely beautiful views, very clean and comfortable beds even with the very cheap pillows. Parking very difficult at times (after we found out where to park the car) with the building work next door. Owner obviously liked minimal contact as wouldn't even return our call initially on asking where to pick up the key, we had a brief text message eventually. Great shame as cottage has immense potential.

We stayed as two couples and had a lovely weekend. The cottage is comfortable but full of history at the same time. We did a couple of walks through scenic countryside with great pubs at the halfway points, The Plough Inn at Warmington and The Dunn Cow at Hornton and would recommend both as well as the local pub in Ratley, the Rose and Crown and then back to evening's in the cottage with the wood burner alight.

We fell in love with the cottage and the location! It was so clean, quiet and cozy-just as shown on the pictures! We had a fabulous time here! Just the DVD player needs replacement, but that all. Everything else was simply perfect! And don't forget to visit the local pub! Fabulous!

Stunning cottage, in perfect location . Walking distance of a lovely friendly pub. I was just here on business so was unable to take full advantage of the location and the cottage but am considering returning for a break with my wife.

A beautiful cottage, very well maintained and equipped. Great location for walking the dogs, and the local pub is fantastic. Highly recommended.

Excellent location for getting out and about but peace and tranquility when at the cottage.
