Spent a week at Queensgate with my two teenage children. Lovely warm welcome from the owners on arrival. Firstly, what a view to wake up to every day! Secondly, love the high ceilings in the rooms! A great base to explore the beautiful local area by foot or by car. Tarbert has everything you could need whilst on holiday- good choice of restaurants, a butchers, a small supermarket, newsagents and various independent shops. We ate in a few times and found the kitchen well equipped for this (although personal choice I'd prefer a dishwasher over the tumble drier!). We didn't need to use the multi fuel burner, however the owners detailed instructions seemed straight forward. Contrary to an earlier review, the 3 of us sporting a grand total of 1 laptop, 1 tablet, 2 iPods and 3 mobile phones- we were never short of plug sockets. Oh and the WiFi was great too! Many thanks for the stay and a base for a lovely week :-)

Loved this upper floor. Fabulous view over the water. Cozy and comfortable. Stairs would be steep for an elderly person. More suited for a family as it only has 1 bathroom. For our final week we were 3 couples sharing and one bathroom was inadequate, but we knew this before we booked. Owner was friendly and helpful. Wonderful welcome basket and we were kept well supplied with eggs from the resident hens. We spent 3 glorious weeks there.

The owner was lovely and we enjoyed our stay but think we would prefer less bedrooms next time and a bit more space in the bathroom and living area. The kitchen was not terribly well equipped for cooking with few pans and we couldn't get the washing machine to work. As the heating is fired from the fire, it was chilly in the mornings. There were hardly any sockets in the rooms and lighting was bad for reading. I would not want to place a critical review as the owner was so nice but the property does need a little modernising.

Being an older couple, we are veterens of many such holidays in the past but we can honestly say that the genuine warmth of the welcome received here from the owners is unequalled! The extremely generous welcome pack was also very much appreciated. This is a truely delightful apartment - warm, comfortable and homely. The owners have thought of everything to make this a lovely holiday home. Tarbert is an ideal base for touring: We visited the islands of Arran and Islay from here and there are just so many fantastic drives locally and further afield. We are looking forward to returning as soon as we can!
