Wasn't impressed with the cottage, it was very, very basic. The heating system i.e. Storage heaters are not practical for this day & age (you are not allowed to put anything on the heaters due to a fire risk) - the fact is, we couldn't dry anything other than use the drying cycle of the washing machine, our shoes stayed wet!! All the plates, bowls, cutlery etc... were out in the open rather than in a cupboard or drawer. There was a small wall heater in the bathroom that you could use to warm up the room, if you didn't switch it on the room was freezing! Both taps on the bathroom wash basin were loose & if you didn't hold them when turning them, they would rotate 360 degrees. There was no storage space in the bedrooms, just hooks on the wall or on the back of the doors. Parking was another issue, we had to drive around to look for a space in nearby streets, but nowhere near to the cottage. All in all, this cottage really needs to be brought into the 21st century to meet the demands of holiday makers - we wouldn't stay there again.

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. Although your comments have been taken on board, the storage heaters are modern and were installed within the last 5 years. There is a utility room with the use of the drying cycle on the washing machine, and space to hang clothes to dry. All cutlery that is in the property is easy accessible and we have everything that you could possibly need. The purpose of the heater is so that in winter when it is slightly colder, it will warm the room up ready for when you have your shower. It isn’t possible to have a storage heater in the shower room due to health and safety reasons. I’m sorry that you felt the taps in the bathroom were loose, but thank you for advising us of this so we can get the issue sorted as soon as possible. In both bedrooms, there are open door cupboards that have space where you are able to place your belongings. I apologise for the confusion over the parking, I thought I had advised where it was best to park.

Had a great weekend in Puzzle Tree cottage. The owner was very obliging in allowing us in early on the Friday and staying later on the Sunday, it was much appreciated and made a great extension to our short break. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable and ideally situated close to the centre.
