This beautiful, spacious, semi-detached Victorian holiday villa has been lovingly restored and is set in the village of Skelmorlie, 6 miles from the seaside resort of Largs. Ideally located within a mile of the sea, and within easy driving distance of visitor attractions, riding, watersports, cycle tracks and fishing. Guests can also enjoy a round of golf at Skelmorlie golf course, less than a mile away. In the summer enjoy a trip on the Waverley Paddle Steamer. Further down the coast are castles and sandy beaches. Shop and pub 500 yards, restaurant less than 1 mile.

    Not a lot in the local area compared to other parts of Scotland, but we did go at the start of November and most attractions were closed for the winter. That said we had the cottage to look forward to with the fabulous log burner which had logs and coal supplied. The cottage itself was a real home from home with everything you could want for. We had a much needed relaxing stay.

    A hidden gem on the Clyde Riviera, especially if you like an older property with some charm and comfort, and ideally placed for exploring over the water to Rothesay, Bute and The Isle of Cumbrae via the very frequent and distinctive Caledonian MacBrayne ferries. Also, don't miss a trip to Nardini's just down the road in Largs, an Art Deco ice cream parlour and restaurant seating 200 people and famous in this part of the world. Refurbished in 2008, this is a must for visitors, so enjoy a meal and a delicious ice cream, a walk on the promenade and if you are fortunate the beautiful sunsets. This was a working trip but we will certainly be back to Prospecthill and bring the bikes next time for exploring the islands in this magical part of Scotland.

    We stayed at Prospecthill in June 2017. Although the weather for our week was wet, the location was brilliant, the house was well equipped, comfortable and cosy. Cathy was really helpful and approachable throughout our stay and we would definitely stay again. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!!

    By far the best holiday let we've used, we are 2 families who holiday together every year. It was spotlessly clean, as well equipped as our own homes, beautifully decorated, well maintained and comfortable, the owners had considered every possible need. The conservatory was a real multi-plus, we had somewhere to go when the kids were watching telly - and vice versa!

    The host was lovely and very accommodating. We are a group of divers who travel all over the UK and having a washing line, hose pipe and garden area to store and rinse kit was brilliant. The house was beautifully restored and very spacious. The parking was also ample as we travelled in several cars. Shop and pub just down the road and beautiful views over the Clyde. We will certainly be back. Many thanks for having us.
