A comfortable, clean bungalow in a beautiful setting in the heart of a unique village. We had some lovely walks with our dog and discovered some really interesting places in this medieval village. Great pub round the corner serving good size meals and great shops to browse around in the local high street. Recommend this property highly.

Priory Bungalow is a great little cottage in a quiet, quaint village location. The kitchen is amazingly well equipped; cooking a meal is effortless. The bed is comfy (pillows are a bit bumpy & tired though). The shower has super water pressure (something that doesn't exist at a lot of cottages!) and there are wonderfully oversized bath sheets instead of normal bath towels...a nice touch. There is a little electric log/coal burner for atmosphere, too (& it takes the chill off on a cool morning). It would be really helpful if there was more of an explanation about when to put rubbish/recycling out, etc. (we asked a neighbor), along with more local information (restaurants, etc.) in the cottage binder. There really is not a village shop to purchase groceries, etc. but we arranged a Tesco delivery which was flawless. A decent supply of basics (hand soap, washing up liquid, etc.) was already there when we arrived. Wifi at the bungalow is super. We used public transport to arrive, and are glad we did, as driving might have been a drawback, as there seemingly is no parking. However, there is a delightful garden/patio to catch the afternoon sun, or for your pup to snooze in the grass. Also, the small entry porch is perfect for muddy boots...and the walks are great from the village. Lastly, we have to note that the cottage had been freshly mopped when we arrived and our linens were all fresh and clean, but it seems that the cleaning people are relying more on squirt bottles for cleaning rather than actually scrubbing and wiping down surfaces with cleanser & hot water....etc. (For instance, without being too graphic -- the toilet hadn't been cleaned....there was simply cleanser squirted into the bowl!) The bungalow is so sweet and has the potential to be a 10++. Hopefully the owner/management company can give it the maintenance love it deserves. We would definitely come back!

We stayed in the bungalow last year as we love Dunster but this year the bungalow was very grubby. The bedding as wellwas yellowed and had dirty marks on it and blood as well. It has put us off booking next year and we are looking at other options.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are sorry your stay wasn’t as enjoyable as your previous visit, we still maintain the same high standard of cleaning as we always have as our previous reviews show, we home launder all our bedding and steam press them ourselves so we are unsure of your comments and how this has happened for which we apologise, we would have addressed this situation if you had notified us during your stay.

This is an ideally situated bungalow with easy access to the amenities of Dunster and the beautiful surrounding countryside. The property is warm and welcoming with all one needs for a relaxing stay. The garden is a bonus. Parking was readily available in the street if a little narrow.
