The Cumbrian Regional Specialist - Fantastic properties in the most favourable locations. No one knows Cumbria better!

Potters Wheel provides excellent facilities and benefits from being only 100 metres from the Lake.

Potter Wheel is five and a half miles south of Coniston Village, on the south western side of Coniston Water. Set well back from the main road, in one and a quarter acres of woodland and only 100 metres from the lake, Potters Wheel has direct access to the Lake shore for fishing, sailing and simply enjoying getting your feet wet. Potters Wheel is an end of terrace cottage, totally refurbished by its owner to provide excellent facilities to ensure a most enjoyable and unforgettable holiday. Leaded windows, a wall formed out of rock, and beams are a reminder of the property’s antiquity and, combined with modern facilities such as a fitted bathroom and top of the range kitchen, the cottage now has a successful mix of ancient and modern - and all within a stones throw of Coniston Water!

Ground Floor: Accessed up a gentle slope, Potters Wheel has oil fired central heating and comprises:
Lounge: With multi fuel stove in original setting, Flatscreen TV with Sky which includes digital radio, DVD player and a range of DVDs.
Kitchen/Diner: With an excellent range of facilities, including electric cooker with double oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer.
Bedroom 1: Twin bedroom with glimpses of the Lake.
Bathroom: With shower over corner bath, and toilet.

First Floor: Bedroom 2: An open-tread, spiral staircase leads from the lounge to a romantic double bedroom with four poster bed, pine floors and pine furniture - please note that the staircase is rather narrow, but the bedroom also has original Lakeland stone steps to access it from outside for taking in luggage, if required.

All oil, electric, bed linen included. Fuel for the multi fuel stove is available at a cost locally. Travel cot, highchair and payphone available. There is woodland around the cottage, with natural fell side down to the lake. There is garden furniture and a BBQ. Parking area to the front. This property has a security deposit of £100.

Shower difficult to use. Stairs dangerous for anybody not completely able bodied.

Second visit here. The location is so special. We spent so much time down by the lake. The garden is simply magical. All week we encountered many birds, baby rabbits, lambs in the garden. Heard a cuckoo. Loads of amazing places to visit nearby, and you always come back to this special place. We were lucky with the weather too!

Perfect location, shame about the cottage. It feels like it was once someone's beloved restoration project but that they have lost interest. All sorts of things were mouldy, broken, leaking or missing. The sitting room is very dark, as you can see from the picture the window is tiny. They need to provide decent lighting to make it more pleasurable to sit in, particularly on a wet day. There is nowhere to dry anything really, and with damp kayaking, swimming and walking gear it was impossible. Our kids said it felt like camping, everything a bit damp. The place is very dark and dank and we had to wash the smell out of our clean unworn clothes when we got home. The garden furniture is a damp picnic table in an overgrown clearing where it is too damp to sit even in the gorgeous weather we had. The trees just need cutting back a bit. They need to provide more than the two deck chairs so people can sit down by the lake which is lovely. On the positive side though, the bedrooms are fine, beds comfortable, and kitchen is okay unless like us you want to cook properly. With four people sitting around the table you can't move or open the fridge. And we are small slip people. The stairs are unusually steep, as other people said, but that was not a problem at all, in fact it was one of the positives as our dogs thought they were a ladder and stayed downstairs without a problem.

Response on behalf of the agency: Thank you for your recent reevoo and we are sorry to hear that you scored the property low compared to other visitors who seem to love this little cottage. In regards to the outdoor seating and garden area this has been passed onto the owners of the property
