A great house in a beautiful location. Very quiet and peaceful. 15 minute walk to the quaint fishing port with some fantastic restaurants, we especially liked L'ECAILLER superb oysters and desserts to die for! Beautiful Bayeux 15 minutes drive away, very interesting museum re tapestry, very pretty town to walk around. House in great location for D Day beaches and all the history associated with this dramatic event, amazing museums and views. Can highly recommend the American military cemetery near Omaha beach. A very informative museum full of personal memories and individual stories. Then you walk outside to hundreds and hundreds of white crosses, a truly humbling experience and it's free! We spent the afternoon sat on Omaha beach soaking up the sun while the children played in the very shallow waves trying to imaging all the events we had just read about. Our furthest venture was to Alligator Bay near Mont St Michel, about a 2 hour drive but definitely well worth it. Full of giant tortoises, snakes, crocs and alligators. Feeding time should not be missed! A great holiday and we hope to return to Normandy very soon.

The premises is on a small housing estate but was surprisingly quiet. Within easy walking distance of the town and the countryside it met all our requirements,

Property is in a great location. Ideal for exploring the landing beaches and surrounding area. It was clean and well equipped with all mod cons and in a nice quiet area. The only think it is lacking is Wi-Fi. Apart from that everything else is excellent.

Worst holiday let I have ever stayedin. House was filthy, bedlinen disgusting, house stale smell, kitchen unusable, toilets had cobwebs they were so dirty, floors sticky, carpets stained, every surface, handle and window was sticky. This house should not be let again without major overhaul.

We loved the location and Port-en-Bessin itself. We very much used the cottage as a base for lots of sight seeing and visiting the nearby war memorials and beaches. The cottage had plenty of space but it was poorly maintained and dirty. I have rented cottages before many times, and you expect some wear and tear but this was actually DIRTY. I had to clean and Hoover the floors before we could put anything down. the kitchens and bathrooms were passable but we had to wash the utensils, crockery and glasses before we could use them due to the dirt on them.

We really enjoyed Normandy. Disappointed with the standard of cleanliness in the cottage on arrival. Otherwise a lovely week.
