We really enjoyed our few days at Poopy's. The scenery is fabulous in a wonderful remote location up the Coquet Valley. The accommodation has almost every facility we needed and the owner is extremely personable. Only 4 things let the place down. The downside of the remote location is (1) the lack of mobile phone service and (2) extremely slow Internet, (3) plague of insects every morning in the toilet, even with the window closed, and lastly (4) dim lighting in the bathroom. But for the poor broadband we'd certainly book again.

This is the second time we have stayed at Poppy's Cottage and we would go back again. Johnny and Hilda, the owners, are very friendly without being obtrusive. We had everything we needed. The cottage is very clean and comfortable and the views are stunning. Great holiday.

We had a great holiday at Poppy's, especially enjoying the peace and quiet with only the sounds of sheep or birds to wake you on a morning. The house had everything you needed and we really enjoyed the cake and jam made by Hilda. The wifi was a bit random and there is no mobile signal but we did not find it a problem and was surprised to find the 2 teenagers in our party didn't either! There is a landline and Hilda is only next door. The views were stunning and we enjoyed walks from the doorstep as well as the wildlife, we saw deer, a heron family, ducks, many garden birds, an owl in the tree in front of the window and bats on an evening. It was also fun to watch the farmers rounding up the sheep, we had no idea how the sheep managed on those steep hills!! We would certainly stay there again........THANK YOU Hilda and Johnny
