Description

Set in a peaceful wooded area, perfectly placed for exploring the rugged north coast of Cornwall, the tranquil waters of the south coast and cathedral city of Truro.

Poppyfields Stable is a delightful and contemporary detached property located within the grounds of a private Cornish country estate. Central to St Ives, Truro and Falmouth, it lies just under 5 miles from the north coast and Porthtowan beach. This tranquil setting provides peace and tranquillity with an abundance of wildlife - a birdwatchers’ paradise. The coast to coast cycle trail from Bisoe to Portreath is close by, with bike hire available. The area will appeal to walkers, cyclists and surfers and wildlife enthusiasts, or for those looking for an alternative true Cornish experience. Within easy reach of a family friendly beach at Portreath, Porthtowan and Gwithian, and Godrevy lighthouse perched on the rocky outcrop. The area is a magnet for dolphins, seals, basking sharks and attracts hundreds of birdwatchers each year. Take the scenic coastal train service from St Erth to St Ives, passing the wide Hayle Estuary and numerous beaches en route. St Ives offers a picturesque harbour, winding streets and art galleries including the Tate Modern and Barbara Hepworth Museum, and a wide choice of restaurants, cafés, shops and some of Cornwall’s finest sandy beaches.
Nearby Tehidy Woods is the largest area of woodland in Cornwall, with over 9 miles of bridle paths set in over 250 acres of peaceful woodland. Nearby Carn Brea Castle is open to the public as a restaurant and on a clear day visitors can see both the north and south coast.
The area has achieved international recognition from UNESCO that has credited World Heritage Site status.

Superb, modern, clean and tidy cottage. Excellent location to visit beaches on both north and south coasts. Set in a very quiet and peaceful rural location. Owner on hand who was extremely friendly and informative for local places to visit. We had an enjoyable week at Poppyfields and highly recommend to others.

We had a very enjoyable holiday at Poppy Fields. It was lovely and clean, modern and tastefully decorated and the owners were very pleasant and welcoming. Although it was just off the main roads it was only a short journey to many attractions e.g. Falmouth, St Ives and Truro, also lots off lovely beaches and gardens such as Trelissick and Trebah. It was quiet and peaceful if you wanted a relaxing holiday but near attractions if you wanted to be more energetic. I fully intend to stay there again next time we want to visit Cornwall.

An absolute gem! A beautiful, contemporary and characterful stable/barn lovingly restored by our hosts Barry and Viv. Set in lovely rural surroundings (which made it very peaceful) but centrally located which made it ideal for visiting all the major tourist destinations, towns and beaches. We loved everything about the property and will definitely return. Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this comfortable and spotlessly clean cottage, with friendly and very helpful owners. The cottage was secluded but well situated for visiting both the north and south Cornish coasts.
