In superb locations and beautiful settings. Cottages4you gives you a fantastic range of hand-picked properties with quality you can rely on.

In the perfect location to discover the delights of the Cotswolds. Surrounded by countryside, ideal for walking, riding and cycling.

This detached holiday cottage is aptly named, with several large ponds, a great variety of ducks and birdlife in the area and the owner’s living on-site. Visitors have sole use of a fully enclsoed pond area (temporary fencing for pond available on request) to the side of the cottage, ideal for dogs and children. Just 1 mile from Cricklade, a small, historic, 9th-century Saxon town, lying at the edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is the only Wiltshire town situated on the banks of the River Thames. It’s midway between Swindon and Cirencester, and is surrounded by lovely countryside ideal for walking, riding and cycling. At the north of the town is North Meadow, now a National Nature Reserve, and home to the rare ’Snakeshead Fritillary’ which flower in April. Nearby is the Cotswold Water Park which offers activities including sailing, water/jet skiing, fishing and bird watching. Travelling around the Cotswolds there are many places to visit, step back in time by wandering the streets of the Regency spa town of Cheltenham, as well as ancient market towns such as Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden and Anglo-Saxon Winchcombe, where you’ll discover Sudeley Castle. Beautiful ancient villages of note in this area include Broadway (’Jewel of the Cotswolds’), Bourton-on-the-Water (Little Venice), Stanton, and Snowshill. Some of the best Cotswold gardens include Batsford Arboretum, Hidcote, Kiftsgate, Sezincote and Bourton House. Leading visitor attractions include Snowshill Manor, the mysterious Rollright Stones and Chastleton House. Some particularly special historic towns include Cirencester (the Roman capital of the Cotswolds), Tetbury, Painswick (often called Queen of the Cotswolds), Burford, Malmesbury and Woodstock (home of Blenheim Palace). Some tourist attractions of special note are Westonbirt Arboretum, Woodchester Mansion, Kelmscot Manor, Malmesbury Abbey and Gardens, and the village of Bibury, which was once described by William Morris as ’the most beautiful village in the Cotswolds’. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Ground floor: Living/dining room. Kitchen. Shower room with toilet. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double (6ft) with additional pull-out single, 1 twin. Separate toilet.

Woodburner in living room (initial fuel included). Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot on request. Freeview TV. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Freezer. Wi-fi. Large lawned garden with patio, sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (2 cars). No smoking. Please note: There is an unfenced pond in the garden.

Really great cottage and very helpful and welcoming owners. Modern decoration, well maintained and great finishing touches. Not the most idyllic location, Cricklade itself isn’t as quaint and remote as I thought it might be, but I maybe should have researched that myself before! Kids and dog loved it too, considering dogs are allowed it did not smell ‘doggy’ at all, it was incredibly clean. Lovely wood burning fire and great TV options with Netflix, which was handy as the weather wasn’t great. The property itself is fantastic, no complaints at all. Thank you!

We spent a lovely family Christmas at Pond House while visiting one of our daughters in panto at Swindon. The cottage was clean and comfortable- we loved the sofa and the beds and bedding were lovely! We enjoyed a great walk in the local area country park. The cottage was well equipped and the owners even provided a decorated Christmas tree😊 Had lovely views of the surrounding countryside and of the ducks and little pony too! We would definitely stay again and would recommend Pond House to others.

We had a great time lots for our two teenagers to do. Plenty of walks for the dog. And as we only booked the day before it was so easy to book and the lady who met us was friendly and gave some advice on where to walk. Super holiday

A lovely cottage in a good location for touring the Cotswolds and surrounding area. We visited with our two small dogs and the garden was totally enclosed and even though they tried to find an escape route they didn't manage it! We were made to feel very welcome by Louise and Marc and we enjoyed the complimentary bottle of Prosecco. The lower floor of the cottage is tiled throughout making it ideal for anyone with dogs and the baby gate on the stairs made it easier to comply with the no dogs rule upstairs. The entire cottage was nicely decorated and clean and tidy. The garden is quite large which gave the dogs a good space to run around in, a previous reviewer has said there was also a paddock for exercising the dogs, but this is no longer the case. I think this property would benefit from a small fence around the pond to deter dogs from going into the water, although shallow it did look silted. If any dog did go into the water they would need a good hosing down with the hosepipe provided. A range of shops, take-aways, pubs and restaurants are available in Cricklade which is around a 5 minute drive from the cottage. We had a lovely stay at the cottage and would recommend it as a base for touring the area.
