Try not to let the exterior put you off, embrace the friendly greetings from the on site team and enjoy the comfort of the spacious house and lovely gardens. We booked it for a 70th Birthday and had age ranges from 3 month to 92. The house catered for all our needs and a fantastic time was had by all. Yes, the Owner needs to look at doing some maintenance, but it is an old house and Jane, Wendy ad Alan do a fantastic job of making sure the guests are comfortable and happy. Thanks for all the wee extras, flowers, chocs, snacks and fruit. The Unsworths

I knew when I booked that the property was made of corrugated iron, but did not expect the outside of the property to be as bad as it was, rusty, old, worn, pipes taped up, ( I presume to stop them leaking,) in need of a lot of attention, my sister did not even want to get out of the car, but just wanted to go home, the inside did not fair much better, the furniture is very old, which is fine, but a few pieces of furniture were only fit for the rubbish skip, especially the piano chair, one chair had staples sticking out at the side, (health and safety) and do not open the display cupboards in either living area, as they smell very musty, the downstairs sink had, at some point been painted white, but the paint was peeling off, and you would not want to wash your hands in it. The reason we booked this property was for the pool, but unfortunately, when you open the door to the pool room, it smells very strongly of wet, dank, musty earth, so only the children were brave enough to endure the smell, mum or dad had to stay to supervise, but every time they came back into the property, the smell came with them, it was very, very unpleasant, and the photos online show nice furniture for sitting round the pool, but now there is only 1 two seater sofa, and a few plastic chairs, but you wouldn't want to sit in there anyway. The trampoline, which the children were looking forward to using, could not be used, as the safety net is so torn and patched up, and the zip is broken, so we felt was unsafe to use. All in all, not worth half the money we paid for this property.....apparently was built during the first world war as a hospital, the house was built for the nurses to live in, seems like it has not had any work done since they left. Shabby chic is acceptable, but this place is just shabby, tired and uncared for. On the plus side, the beds are very comfortable, and the caretakers are lovely.

The picture shown on the website is the rear of the property, so when we arrived I was VERY disappointed. The house is a pre-fab and painted grey. It has no street appeal. But walk inside and everything changes. It is a very large house all but 1 of the bedrooms are large and well furnished. The main bathroom has a lovely roll top bath. The main kitchen is a breakfasting kitchen with an island hob.(hob and oven could do with an upgrade) and plenty of storage, the large table sits 8 easily. The 2nd kitchen doubles as a utility room and again is large. ( the cooker could do with an upgrade). There are 2 sitting rooms and a large dining room.Outside the garden is simply beautiful. It wraps around the whole property. The swimming pool is housed in a glass house(conservatory). It is the jewel in the crown, we enjoyed it so much, part jacuzzi, part swimming pool with jets to make waves, the children loved it. All this sit on a decked area, that has tables and seating. All in all a GREAT property that needs some T.L.C.

We had a good stay. THE cottage was well equipped and with plenty of space. A couple of problems arose but the caretaker dealt with these as promptly as possible but we were inconvenienced without a dishwasher for a couple of days and the hot tub was out of action due to maintenance issues. That said, the house had everything we needed and was well located for lots of attractions in the area. Beds were very comfy and overall we had a really great stay.

Fantastic big house. Great for family get togethers. Comfy beds. Excellent for kids. Well equipped. Pool and jacuzzi are luxury extras. Kids were like prunes every day they were in it that much!! Plenty of space. Spacious gardens for dogs to run around in.
