Description

A white washed traditional thatched cottage with an enclosed garden and its very own hot tub! Stay in luxury whilst exploring the very best of Somerset.

Quintessentially English. This is the only way to describe this beautiful, adjoining, thatched holiday cottage. The charm of the outside is again reflected in the well-appointed and beautifully presented interior. From the themed en-suite bedrooms to the enclosed private gardens complete with cedar wood hot tub (bring own towels), no corners have been cut to ensure guests have the best of everything during their stay. A tumble dryer is even provided for you to dry your own towels after using the hot tub. As well as good looks, the cottage’s convenient location means Minehead town centre is within walking distance whilst the dramatic coast and moorland countryside is all a short drive away. There is a station within walking distance so guests can enjoy the steam trains of the West Somerset Railway. There is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path or inland on the moors, and many places to visit to make a memorable holiday. The Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watersmeet Gorge (NT), Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway. Looking towards Minehead there is the promenade to enjoy a walk and an ice cream, as well as having a good array of shops and other amenities. A visit to the enchanting, medieval Dunster Castle (NT), with its beautiful terraced gardens, deer park and mill will make for an interesting day out. Porlock and Porlock Weir hold plenty of charm and interest to those who visit the area. Shop and pub 500 yards.

Delightful and spacious cottage. Beautiful situation. Generously provisioned for basic goods - tea, sugar, dishwasher tablets etc.

Lovely cottage up a long steep hill from the sea front and town. Hot tub is basic and warm. Suggest single beds are moved upstairs for family use. Parking is not outside but in a road 50 yards away. Low beams and winding staircase with irregular riser heights. Child gate is across a bedroom door not at top of staircase. Facilities and condition excellent. Very comfortable and quiet.

Lovely location and the cottage was fantastic, the best place I've ever stayed. Fully equipped for a relaxing stay. I only didn't give it 10/10 as the hut tub only worked twice during our stay, which was a disappointment for us all.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback, it’s great that you say Pilgrim Corner is the best place you’ve ever stayed. I’m sorry we had technical issues with the hot tub during your stay, this is rare. We did send the team out to check it as soon as we were made aware of the problem, including on a Saturday night, but whilst usually we can get the tub restarted, on this occasion none of the actions we took worked. When our engineer arrived and rectified the problem, he confirmed the cause was an electrical fault which was out of our control, and not something we could have fixed ourselves.

Pilgrim Corner is very old but has all the mod cons whilst managing to keep it's "olde world" charm and it is located in a beautiful part of the town with great views from the church up the steps next to the cottage. The cottage is so picturesque that it is actually on postcards and the 2016 calendar for Minehead. People regularly stop to take photographs. The owner has thought of every possible thing to make you feel welcome and enjoy your stay including a delicious welcome cake. I highly recommend staying there.

This is a wonderful cottage, very clean and maid for a wonderful celebratory place for 70th birthday. The only problem that we had was a fault with the hot tub. They did their best to fix the problem. It was the Easter break so spares were not available. We would highly recommend the accommodation. We had a wonderful time with our two daughters and husband with three Grand children.
