These stylish and well fitted holiday barn conversions sit above the picturesque village of Boscastle and boast far reaching views along the coast and across the Atlantic from the gardens and picnic areas. Each cottage has been personally styled and has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard with many thoughtful additions. The properties are bright and airy and whatever the season these cottages will appeal to those looking to explore Cornwall and in particular the North Coast with all its attractions. The cottages have two large lawn areas with picnic benches (one accessed via steps, two suitable for less mobile guests), which are ideal for evening barbecues or a morning cup of coffee. Boscastle is a short drive away with its shops, restaurants and historic harbour. Also close by is Tintagel, the mystical home of King Arthur. Further up the coast are the beaches at Crackington Haven and Bude which are ideal for surfers, and down the coast is the picturesque harbour village of Port Isaac which has been made famous by the TV series ’Doc Martin’. Also within an easy drive is Padstow, where you can take a walk or a cycle ride along the Camel Estuary to the market town of Wadebridge. You are ideally situated to visit the Eden Project and of course the unspoilt moorland of Bodmin Moor. Local Boscastle shops, restaurants, pubs and the garage are all less than 1 mile away.

we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Penrose. It was a very comfortable and very clean accommodation. The owners were friendly and helpful. It is good to take a selection of provisions to start the holiday as not close to shops but owners provided pint of milk and coffee/tea was provided. I always take a couple of prepared meals to start the week so closeness to shops no problem. Would definitely choose to stay there again.

Penrose is a lovely little cottage for a couple to use as a base to explore the North Cornish coast. As our trip was in summer and we wanted to be out and about as much as possible, we did not spend long hours in the cottage. But when we were in, it had everything we needed and had a good 'feel'. It is nicely laid out and has some beautiful views from the lounge and bedroom. The bed is on the softer side, which I know some people prefer. We have an especially firm bed at home, so it took a night or two to adjust to the different mattress but it was not a 'bad bed'! Peter and Mary were welcoming and eager to assist if needed.

The holyday didn't go as expected as we went into Boscastle and whilst there we had some fish & chips and got food poison, Mary the landlady was great she went to the local chemist and got us some medicine supplys and gluecose drink, she came in every day to see how we were, the cottage was great much better than we expected it had fantastic views out to sea, and was in a very peaceful position, we would book here again if we wanted to return this area, we would recommend this to anybody who would like a nice quiet holiday.
