A handsome former stable set in three acres and close to the river. The light and bright decor makes this a delightful base from which to explore Cornwall.

Peaceful secluded location

This detached holiday cottage, set in 3-acres, is in a rural location within an AONB and is in the riverside village of Golant-by-Fowey. The Stable is a separate part of a larger barn dating back to 1851. Ideally situated for walking, it is located on the Saints’ Way, an ancient footpath linking the north and south coasts of Cornwall. There is a footpath from The Stable leading to the river. Fowey, 4 miles, has restaurants, galleries, shops, pubs, boat and fishing trips. An ideal base for exploring South Cornwall with its beaches, coastal walks and gardens. The Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Bodmin Moor are easily reached. St Austell with its leisure facilities is 8 miles. Polkerris beach, 4 miles. Shop 2.5 miles, pub 1 mile, restaurant 4 miles.

Ground floor: Living room with French doors and wooden floor/dining room/kitchen. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double (6ft zip and link, can be twin on request), 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Beams throughout.

Lovely clean property in a peaceful location. With a friendly and helpful host. A little excessive price wise but it was in the school holidays, so was expected, unfortunately.

We had a very comfortable and enjoyable holiday in this cottage. The owner gave us a great welcome and was very helpful.

Ignore the picture of the river. That view is 1/4 mile away from the cottage on the access road. The only view from the property is the carpark/court yard. If you have any concerns about bees, the owner keeps bees on his land and they fly to the trough out side your french windows every afternoon. Not good for animals or children.

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. We do not claim to have river views, this is the view just a short distance from the Stable and the view the stable does have is not of a carpark but a walled courtyard and over to the fields beyond. The bees no longer visit the trough as it has been emptied of water and in any case they are not harmful to children as they are honey bees not wasps, we have had many children stay with us that have come to no harm in fact they enjoy learning about the bees from the Owner, Tye the beekeeper. And we do not allow animals so there are no problems there either.
