Scone has fantastic local transport with a local bus service running into Perth every 10 minutes. You could easily stay here at Scone without a car - you can fly into the local airport and then take a short taxi journey or take the train to Perth where the owners of the property are happy to pick you up from the train station. Penny Lane is only a short walk across the village park from local shops, pubs and eateries.
