Description

Discover the wonderful beaches, harbour and attractions that Newquay and the surrounding area have to offer.

Sitting in a residential street on the outskirts of Newquay, this spacious, semi-detached three storey house is a very short stroll away from Newquay’s premier family beach. Porth Beach with its own island connected by a bridge, has an iron age settlement, a great spot to watch the sunset while you enjoy a glass of wine. Porth, the original fishing port before the quay was built down the coast, has a beachside pub with great food and local ales, a beach shop and cafés. The surfing town of Newquay with its seven stunning beaches is just minutes away with its many attractions which include a zoo, a sealife centre, leisure centre, golf course, pitch ’n’ putt course, parks and gardens, as well as dramatic cliff top walks and many restaurants, cafés and shops. With its beaches comes surf and surf schools, so you can try your hand at this exhilarating sport. Truro, the capital of Cornwall, is easily reached and is a must to explore the narrow streets and enjoy the restaurants, shopping, museum, cinema and theatre for an alternative day or evening out. Padstow, home to Rick Stein’s food empire, is a must visit for all the family. Wander around the narrow streets that all lead to the working harbour and enjoy the ambiance provided by this traditional working fishing village. A flat walking and cycling trail links the town to Wadebridge and hugs the shoreline of the beautiful Camel Estuary all the way along this stunning trail. Bike hire is available at both ends. A top tip is to ride from Wadebridge to Padstow and enjoy fish and chips from Stein’s Chippy on the harbour before the ride home. Creally Adventure Park and Lappa Valley Steam Railway are nearby. This property provides the ideal base to explore further afield as the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project and many National Trust gardens, parks and houses are close by, such as Lanhydrock House and Trerice Manor. St Ives, Falmouth, Fowey and Mevagissey are all easily reached and all provide an alternative day out. Golf, cycling, horse riding, surfing, sailing and kayaking are all available locally. Beach ¼ mile. Shop 300 yards, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Penhallow House is a spacious, clean and comfortable home, close to local amenities and only a short walk from the gorgeous Porth beach. As it is also close to the main road in and out of Newquay, we found it ideal for quick, easy access to all the amazing attractions in the area. Having David and Gillian next door was another bonus as they were kind and helpful throughout our stay and left us a beautiful welcome tray upon arrival. We've stayed at various holiday homes in Cornwall over the years but Penhallow House comes out top!

A wonderful place. Great for family, went with brother and sister-in-law with a 7month old and our little one 16months old. Plenty of room and brilliant facilities. We took extra baby gate as our little one could open doors, owners really helpful. Was a home from home experience.

Great place to stay. House is wonderful. Parking can sometimes be a bit tricky because the neighbours seemed to ignore the drop kerb! Would highly recommend stopping here. We all loved our stay.
