Fantastic 5 day break on a working farm away from the rat race of city live. The views from the cottage are unbelievable, you can see for miles and miles. The cottage has everything and more. And of course the hot tub is an added bonus.

Unfortunately, on opening the velux window in 3 of the 4 rooms on the first floor, we were exposed to a known fly infestation. The owners didn't tell us about it, or warn us of the issue on arrival, so we found out and had to kill around 60-70 flies. We did do as the owners asked in trying to deal with them, but it didn't result in a reduction of the problem, so we left the property after the second night and found a bed and breakfast.

Beautiful location right by Offa's Dyke. Helen the owner was very friendly and helpful. Various walks from the cottage. We all had a great time including the dog.

Lovely lodge, well equipped with everything needed to feel like youre 'home from home'Beautiful views and very peaceful location. Short drives from towns with supermarkets. The only downside was that after using the hot tub on our 2nd evening (showered before hand) on the 4th day when we came to use it again,we lifted the lid off and it smelt like quite a strong'fishtank''musty' type smell :( needless to say it was only used once during our stay which was a little upsetting but didnt want to bother the owners as we werent sure whether the smell was 'normal' having not used one before. If you have children, the small breeds animal farm is a must visit, inexpensive to get in and our girls loved being able to pet and feed the animals there.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for your kind comments. We were devastated to hear of the problems you had with the hot tub, however, had you brought this to our attention at the time we would have been able to rectify the problem in a minute; it appears that temperature had been turned down and buttons pressed which caused the system to close down.

The lodge itself is well equipped with everything you could possible need. Owners are really friendly and helpful. Views are beautiful and hot tub is an added bonus. Can't wait to go back.

We loved our two week stay in the lodge compared to our usual caravan holiday, Helen and her family were very nice and friendly, there is lots of good days out near the lodge and it was great coming back after a day out to relax in the hot tub. The Royal Oak in Presteigne does a beautiful Sunday roast, the prices are excellent and the portions are massive. Would be very happy to stay in the lodge and visit Helen & her family again.

We were a group of 4 adults and 2 children. Pen Y Clawdd is an absolutely wonderful cottage. Every thing has been thought of. Views were amazing, location was perfect and it was a lovely holiday. Helen very kindly indulged my child and let her pet the horses and the new foal. Thanks for everything Helen, Sue and the kids. Will definitely visit again. And the hot tub was FAB!

Absolutely stunning property, it's in a fantastic rural location which is perfect if you want a relaxing peaceful time away. The kids loved being able to run around the garden freely and loved seeing the sheep and horses. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. I've already recommended this property to a few friends and would definitely book again.
