Description

Overlooking the Bristol Channel, this property offers the perfect get away with its quiet location and beautiful views.

Set on a quiet country lane in beautiful walking country overlooking the Bristol Channel, Parsonage Farm is the perfect holiday location to ’get away from it all’. There has been a house here for almost a thousand years and that rich history is still evident within the property. Reputedly, Coleridge wrote ’Kubla Khan’ in Culbone Parsonage, the main house. Parsonage Farm Stables occupies what would once have been the hayloft floor of the adjoining barn. It is ideally located as a base for walking, touring and riding on the crown of Exmoor. Places to visit include Porlock, Lynton and Lynmouth, Watchet Marina and Dunster Castle (NT). The glorious West Somerset and North Devon Coast, Minehead, Exmoor and Lorna Doone Valley are all within easy reach. The highest ’Free House’ pub on Exmoor is just a mile or so away from the house. Picturesque Porlock Weir with its shingle beach is just 3 miles down the hill via a toll road, and local shops can be found in the sleepy village of Porlock.

Cosy and comfortable although the bed felt a little bit too hard. Lovely aspect with good views across to Wales. Well equipped kitchen and the bread and home made marmalade and jam was a nice touch.

This cottage was the first week of our honeymoon. The owners lived nearby, friendly, helpful, kind, but not intrusive. A lovely character cottage with both Sea and hilly countryside within Exmoor boundary. An excellent private garden with Sea views. Nicely comfortable furniture, decor, equipment. Lovely kitchen area etc Constructive Critism:- main double bed mattress needs replacing with new one. I do not suffer from back trouble normally but did during our stay? The bathroom although clean, quaint and passable, really needs modernising with either new shower unit or modern wall fitted shower with safety glass screen over outer side of Bath? One or two interior doors not able to close properly. However over all we would rate this cottage as 9 out of 10. Edgar and Ann, Southfleet, Kent.

We have just returned from a very relaxing stay at Parsonage Farm Stables. If you want to escape the noise and pollution of every day living and go back to a cleaner, quieter place in time, this is the holiday cottage for you. The views from the cottage of the surrounding countryside are beautiful. If you enjoy walking, then you can explore right from the cottage door. Do bring good boots and waterproofs though because the weather moves fast on the moor. The owners are extremely nice, dog friendly people and keen to make your stay perfect. Thank you.
