Several farm parks are within a 40-minute drive.
Aberporth boasts a handful of shops and inns and a Butterfly Farm, while boat cruises are available from New Quay or St Dogmaels to take in a great variety of bird and sea life. New Quay, which claims to be the original Llareggub in Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood, the pretty harbour has a cobblestone quay and a small, curving beach. The lower town is home to the Heritage Centre and the Marine Wildlife Centre. One of the major attractions are the bottlenosed dolphins, which can often be seen frolicking by the harbour wall, and boat trips can be taken to further increase chances of a sighting.

This property is perfect for the whole family, there were 14 in our party - 8 adults, 2 children and 4 infants. We loved the big family kitchen which was well equipped and had plenty of character. Having a large dining table in there meant we could cook and eat together, which was a real treat for us as not many rooms can usually accomodate all 14 of us round the table! The bedrooms were all comfy and cosy, with the exception of a couple of lumpy beds. There was plenty showers/bathrooms - which meant each bedroom pretty much had their own bathroom facilities - so no queuing for showers in a morning. The property is relatively baby friendly, we would have benefitted from a fire guard for the wood burner in the living room and maybe a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs - however this wasnt a big deal as the adults outnumbered the children so we always had eyes on the little ones. The whole house had a unique charm, in each room the walls were lovingly dressed with pictures that were obviously special to the owners - photos of family members together over the years. There was a real history to the cottage - which was apparent in these pictures and made the place feel very homely. The only criticism I would make would be the overall cleanliness - the place seemed a bit 'lived in' for our liking and could have done with a thorough spring clean. The laundry was clean and fresh and the cottage had been refreshed prior to our arrival but there were a few areas which could have done with a good scrub (dusty skirting boards, limescale in bathrooms, dirty carpets under/behind furniture, etc). We had to hoover the living room when we arrived as there was a few bits on the carpet that we didnt want the babies picking up. The location is great, the cottage is just a short drive from some really lovely tourist sites and some great beach towns such as New Quay beach and Poppit Sands and there was also a few things nearby to keep the children entertained on our rainy days, there's a swimming baths in Cardigan and a soft play centre in Aberaeon which was great for children of all ages (however the food was awful and probably the worse coffee I've ever tasted, also it was pretty expensive compared to our local centres, but on a rainy day it was ideal for the kids). We had a fantastic time and would recommend this accomodation to large parties wanting a 'home from home' for a family holiday in a gorgeous part of the country.

We had a brilliant time at Parc Y Gors. Adults, children and dogs alike were all thoroughly entertained and has a very enjoyable stay. We were not left wanting for anything. Photo's do not do the house justice, but it was really lovely to walk into such a homely place. The vases of flowers really made for a lovely welcome. Thank you.
