Northumbrian Cottages

The Northumberland Regional Specialist - Fantastic properties in the most favourable locations. No one knows Northumberland better!

Deceptively spacious newly refurbished bungalow in the heart of the picture postcard coastal village of Beadnell.

Situated in the very heart of the picture postcard coastal village of Beadnell nestles Palmer’s Rest, a deceptively spacious bungalow. Adjacent to St Ebba’s Church (named after a Northumbrian princess who founded an abbey in Coldingham in the Scottish Borders) this coastal village location is simply idyllic.
The newly refurbished Palmer’s Rest is a suitable choice for the gathering of family and friends alike. With two double bedrooms at one ‘wing’ of the property and a third double bedroom and a small bunk room at another; the layout of the accommodation lends itself to space and privacy. A large, bright sun room is a lovely spot to gather and dine with St Ebba’s Church as a view. It leads to a spacious and well-equipped kitchen. The separate lounge focuses upon a cosy open fire with 50” wall-mounted TV above. With TVs in most rooms there is ample wet-weather entertainment.

Ground Floor: The accommodation is all on ground floor level has electric storage heaters, comprising:
Sun room/Conservatory: a spacious area to dine and relax.
Kitchen: with electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine; breakfast bar.
Dining area: adjacent to kitchen.
Lounge: with open fire and wall-mounted 50” TV.
Bedroom 1: with super king-size bed.
Bedroom 2: with double bed; door to small porch leading to enclosed garden at rear.
Bedroom 3: with double bed.
Bedroom 4: with twin beds.
Bathroom: with shower over bath, WC and wash basin.
Shower room: with shower cubicle, WC and wash basin.

All electricity included. Bed linen and towels supplied. Travel cot available. Wifi Internet access available. Front/side garden with enclosed rear patio area. Off road parking for 1 car directly in front of garage with additional on street parking.

Enjoyed our stay in Beadnell. Lovely location. Spacious well equiped bungalow however in need of some serious basic maintenance and a deep clean. Issues with rotting bathroom floor which was temporarily repaired; blocked toilets and smelly drains.

The house is in a lovely location with amenities all close by. The house is in desperate need of renovation. We had no hot water for 3 days, blocked toilets and drains. Terrible sewage smell in the kitchen and only one little cupboard to put our food in for the week. It could be a lovely house if owners spend money on it updating bathrooms, kitchen and lounge. House was filthy above eye level and shower heads in bathrooms were disgusting! Lovely holiday but let down by state of house.

We had a comfortable stay and the property was very well equipped, in a great location for a family break. We feel that the property would benefit from some upgrading, though this didn't stop us having a great week in Northumberland.
