We had a very pleasent one week stay in the cottage. The owner welcomed us with homemade cake, flowers and a drink. The cottage was situated near the beach and 10 min from Rye; very well equiped; super clean and reasonable priced. We recommend this cottage to anyone.

A lovely holiday cottage in great condition, the owners were really helpful and left a lovely welcome pack for us, including Milk, Bread, homemade marmalade and homemade Cake! A lovely touch. The cottage was in great condition, very clean and tidy. We are glad we found it - and will visit again in the future.

This is a great holiday cottage - it's so well equipped, especially for a small child - as well as the travel cot and high chair, there are some toys and children's cutlery and crockery - very handy. We had a lovely relaxing break. The owner Kelvin was exceptionally helpful. I recommend the KiteSurfing Centre - I did a paddleboarding course there and it was great. Thanks so much for a lovely stay.

We had an enjoyable week at camber Sands during the September heatwave. Oyster Catchers was a good base for the three of us to explore the coastline and the local town of Rye and the house was well equiped and presented. We would have liked a more comfortable chair than the basket chairs to go with the settee. We did find that turning on the bathroom light at night was not a good idea as the extractor fan made a lot of noise for a long time.

The Oystercatchers is a lovely place for a break from everyday's life. It is in a quiet area of Camber and only a few minutes walk from Camber Sands. The house is very clean and modern but cosily furnished. The kitchen is well equiped for preparing breakfast or a quick lunch or dinner and we have had a very warm welcome with delicious pieces of cake waiting for us, as well as milk and orange juice. The only small improvement could be a better shower to wash away the sand accumulated at Camber Sands. Overall a great place to come again for a short break.

it was okay but not worth the money. the shower wasn't great at all- a trickle of water, it smelt of dogs which the kids didn't like. location was great. arrival package- cake was fab. owners were lovely. But too basic for the price. coffee machine would be good. It needs to be more kid safe- the cord on the blinds worried me and they weren't tied down and a comfy sofa would be good. blackout blinds - suppose it depends what market they are catering for but I wouldn't recommend to a family. sorry!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are sorry for your disappointment. We were rather surprised by these comments as they seem to contradict some of those left in our visitor book. However the price is determined by Cottages.com in accordance with the star grading and size and is very competitive with identical local properties. The blinds, which are blackout, were inspected by the regional representative and were approved for the audit with adequate and usual tying back facilities. We noticed they were not attached to the cleats when we checked them on departure. A cafetiere has suited all previous clients as this is a beach cottage and is furnished appropriately. The new leather sofa has received many positive comments. The shower runs on mains pressure. We personally clean the house on almost every changeover and whilst we accept dogs we have never received similar comments and have always scored very highly for cleanliness so your comments surprised and concerned us.
