Description

Located on a small traditional farm, The Granaray is just a short drive from North Cornwall’s best beaches.

Just a short drive from excellent beaches at Bude (2 miles) and Widemouth Bay (4 miles), these converted barns date back well over 100 years. Located on a small traditional farm, these three delightful cottages are beautifully presented and have their own private patio areas. Duck House (GE3) and The Granary (GB8) both enjoy panoramic coastal views from their first floor living rooms and are full of character and charm. The Gilberts (TS7) has glorious country views across the lake towards the coast and is a very spacious detached cottage. Well appointed and beautifully furnished, it is the perfect relaxing retreat. Visitors are welcome to wander over much of the farmland grounds. Bude offers shops, inns, restaurants, golf, riding and a swimming pool. Launceston (16 miles) boasts a 12th-century castle. Bodmin Moor 12 miles. Shops and pubs 1 mile.

One of a pair with the owners’ home. Dining room with slate floor. Modern fitted kitchen. Twin bedroom with rugs on wooden floor. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. A great place to stay with young kids. Everything you need for a week's holiday: well equipped cottage, good beaches and pubs and cafes all close by as well as supermarkets and shops nearby - really practical. Friendly welcome with cake and milk already in the fridge as well as a couple of baby sheep that wandered up to say hello.oh and a great view over farmland to the sea in the distance.

Warm welcome and a good location to explore the Cornwall coast . But the cottage needs to be refurbished.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; This is a bit disappointing for us, and a real departure from other reviews this last year. These visitors may have been expecting something a bit more stylish, but the Granary is just a lovely Cornish country cottage. Our priorities are warmth, cleanliness, ease of use and good hosting. Other comments on this page say repeatedly how comfortable and well equipped it is, and that's really what we're aiming for. Our only concession to modernity is that we do have good WiFi!

A warm welcome to a lovely, homely, well presented accommodation. Comfortable, war, well equipped and peaceful. An ideal base for days in and out.

Very friendly welcome in a comfortable well equipped cottage. Bit of an issue with the heating dealt with promptly and efficiently. Close to Bude and other excellent beaches. Also enjoyed pub meals in the village Overall a very enjoyable stay

Lovely location and great hosts. Fantastic views across to sea from the small balcony, we toasted it with a g & t as the sun set. Cottage has 'upside down' layout and is quite small but has everything you need for a week or two. Dog friendly but do be advised that there's a cat on site that likes to roam free (as cats should) and there's no enclosed external space for your dog. Just under a mile walk into Stratton - which is lovely - down a narrow lane without pavements, don't let that put you off as cars are well aware of pedestrians. All in all a great week spent at the farm and nothing too much trouble for the host - recommended.

This was the second time we have stayed at the Granary - that should speak for itself. Sheila is only a call away if needed and always happy to help - very welcoming and accommodating. We asked to view the adjacent property ( for next time - as its slightly bigger but just for a change ) and received an immediate guided tour. Sheila is very proud of her properties and looks after them well. If you want a quiet location surrounded with beautiful countryside with access to private farm land to walk in ( dog friendly too ) AND be only a 10 minute drive to the beach then this is for you. Well worth it. Thank you once again. P.S. can we please have sunshine all week next time :)

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Cornwall. Sheila and Joe, the owners of the cottage, were extremely friendly and helpful and made us very welcome. It was the first time my friend had been to England but she found the friendliness of the people generally was quite incredible.
