Perfect accommodation. Obliging thoughtful hosts. Excellent launch point to explore the stunning north Cornwall coast, its cliff walks, coves, bays and beaches. If we had children with us we know they would have loved the farmyard location. Cannot fault this choice. Many thanks to Sheila...(and to Marie ? who cleaned spotlessly) :) J, A, & Harry.

A well maintained and equipped cottage. The lounge/diner/kitchen was sunny and welcoming and the bed was very comfortable. There was a large bathroom with both a walk-in shower and a bath. There was plenty of parking outside and a pleasant patio area with table and chairs. It was in a peaceful location yet only 10 minutes drive into Bude. The owner was pleasant and helpful.

Stayed at The Gilberts - 25.08.2017 - 01.09.2017 We had a great week at the cottage, my husband and I and our Chocolate Lab Rosie. We loved that we could walk Rosie around all the farm land, which she loved. The cottage was lovely and clean with everything there you could wish for. Shelia had some lovely cake waiting for us on arrival. Also Milk, tea bags, coffee and sugar. We had some great food at the Tree Inn and the Kings Arms just down the lane. The cottage is close to everything and we had some great days out travelling around cornwall especially loved driving down the Coastal road. We found some lovely beaches and camp sites with great cafe's where we had Cream Teas and cornish Pasties. We also had a lovely meal at the Bay View Inn, looking over Widemouth Bay watching the sun set, as per some other reviews we did not have to wait a long time for our meal. I also went horse riding on the beach, which was on my bucket list to do. we were also blessed with the lovely hot weather over the bank holiday. We will return to the cottage.

We had glorious weather which mitigated some of our disappointments with the cottage, the host, Sheila, was lovely and looked after us very well.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; This is a shocking review for us and one that is very hard to understand. The cottage was as perfect as it always is for our guests - spotlessly clean, warm, comfortable, great WiFi, every last light bulb working, and fresh cake, eggs etc. on arrival. And, at this time of year, a patio bedecked with colourful hanging baskets and pots, with a view of the sea. As these visitors have been unable to explain what exactly their disappointments were, it is hard to address them. We are more than willing to act on any suggestions visitors may have to improve what we offer, but we have no clue here. We are truly sorry that these visitors appear not to have loved it here, but they said nothing on departure, and have added nothing in this review. I am surprised they mentioned the good weather we had that week. At the time they said it was too hot. We only want our guests to have a great holiday but these guests were quiet all week. I know they say you can’t please all the people all the time. But we do try.

We had an absolutely fantastic time staying at the Gilberts , the rooms are all fitted out very well and are spacious . The bungalow was extremely clean and comfortable and being a person of limited mobility it was ideal for me .The owner made us most welcome and kept a low profile but was on hand if we should need her. The location of the Gilberts is superb being on a working farm surrounded by beautiful countryside with stunning views to the coast and wonderful evening skies. We will return, thank you, Sally Nigel and Stanley

Where can I start!? A lovely welcome from Sheila and a gorgeous lemon drizzle cake! This was a perfect getaway for us, just what we wanted. Quiet, relaxing and picturesque. Lovely cozy pub 'The Kings Inn' not far away for some really lovely food. Visited local beaches what were beautiful and most of them dog friendly. Even our dog Mylo had the best time. The cottage was so lovely and comfortable with an amazing bathroom. Everything we needed was there, even a hairdryer! Munch the cat was adorable and she popped by a couple of times to say hello :) This was my first time at Cornwall and it has definitely captured my heart! I honestly can't wait to come back here.

Very clean and just decorated and refurbished by the look of it. Nice and quiet even though the builders where there Sheila told them not to have their radio blaring out and they turned it off immediately we arrived back from an outing.

It was an excellent place to stay. The host had thought of everything and had added some lovely touches. It was welcoming from the first minute of our arrival and we were able to settle quickly. It was a home away from home. The ability to have our dog with us meant it was a "full" family break.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your kind words. People can be apprehensive bringing their dog away to a strange place, but they don't need to be here. Dogs are not just allowed, they are very welcome. I would add, however, that we have had guests who don't own a dog and are unsure on arrival how really clean it will be. Its lovely when the instant reaction is you'd never know this cottage accepts dogs. I take no credit for this. I have the best cleaner in the county. She wouldn't leave a dog hair unturned.
