A wonderful place to stay if you're looking for solitude, beautiful scenery and want to be close to nature and wildlife. It's the only place I've seen hares close up! Oxen Law cottage is warm and cosy thanks to underfloor heating regulated by room thermostats. Modern kitchen and appliances make life a breeze. The showers and bathrooms are top notch. If you're keen to learn about the industrial heritage of this part of County Durham then you'll be fascinated by the history of The Waskerley Way and inspired to walk or bike it. Talk to the local farmers to get a real flavour of what life was like for them and their families who have lived here for centuries.

Cottage clean and well presented as usual. Local wildlife amazing at this time of year with curlews, lapwings, oyster catchers and skylarks on the doorstep.

Simply perfect, best cottage we've ever stayed in. Location is brilliant, so peaceful and quiet. The cottage is beautiful and done to a very high standard. The owners leave you to it so it just feels like a home from home! 5 star!

I took my partner here for a surprise weekend away with his friends for his 25th birthday and everything was perfect! It felt like our own home for the weekend as the owners were very private and did not disturb us. The kitchen is amazing and has all the equipment you could ever need. We especially loved how spacious this cottage was and then heated floor tiles were an added bonus, would definitely recommend and would love to own a home like this one day.
