Everything was good with the cottage but is far from pet friendly had to get dogs on a lead and walk to a semi enclosed field but could not go on field when horses were out witch was like 90percent of the time. And there isn't any other fields around so would have to get dogs in car and drive somewhere to let them off/do their business. If you go with no pets then yeah it's 100percent a lovely place to go!!

Had a lovely weekend at Owl Cottage, children really enjoyed feeding the chickens and seeing the other animals plus had two riding lessons. Good location - could enjoy freedom of easy walks on the quiet roads yet only short drive to Skegness for family attractions like Seal Sanctuary and beach.

A nice little cottage, as a family of three and cat, we spent a nice time at this cottage. It served all our needs, we used it as a base to visit family over Christmas period. It was small, but had everything we needed. It was nice to see the horses and animals. The chickens got our left over toast! Would stay again

Lovely cottage with all that you would need for a short break, compact but ok as we had a toddler and 6 month old. Bunk beds more suited to 3 years old plus due to height of bottom bunk but we re-arranged pillows to other end and travel cot up to bunk and toddler landed in travel cut when climbing down but he's a mountaineer. Lovely welcome of bread, milk, butter and cookies and all ladies friendly. Welcome folder useful and wainfleet got supermarket and shops for provisions

Made to feel very welcome, everyone very friendly and helpful. Loved the cottage, especially the view from the long window into the stables. Opportunity to feed the chickens and other small animals. Printed directions to other locations given, which were very helpful. Essential shopping provided on arrival and a gorgeous chocolate cake baked for us mid week. Would definitely book to stay there again and have already recommended it to friends. Huge thank you to Sue, Lora and the gang

As a cheap short break this cottage was ideal, close enough to the hustle and bustle of Skegness but far enough away from the crowds to enjoy peace and quiet. Only downside to the location is that there was no open pub or other amenities within walking distance. (we hate driving everywhere), however you can have shopping delivered here. The cottage was small as expected and although the sleeping arrangements were fine we struggled to all fit in the living area as afamily of four plus one large dog!. Everyone around the farm were very friendly, Sue and Laura are very laid back hosts and made us feel welcome. Our children enjoyed helping out on the farm, pony lessons and playing with the rabbits.

Extremely disappointed, website stated kids could ride ponies and milk the goats that made my 5 year old really excited, to then be let down by arrogant rude unsociable people, they didn't even wish us good morning or introduce them selves,so my daughter never got a ride. The cottage was very cold damp and dirty with no cleaning products left for shower etc. Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't go back for free, made our family holiday very disappointing.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; It saddens me to hear that that you were disappointed with your holiday with us. I would like to take this opportunity to respond to some of the comments you have made. We always introduce ourselves to guests when we deliver the welcome pack and homemade loaves. However, I will remind everyone that this is the expectation, in case they forgot this time. You addressed me by name when enquiring about receiving an online shopping delivery during your stay and when you asked about the opportunity for your daughter to ride one of our ponies. Once we aware that she was interested in riding, we asked you to speak to Lora (our riding instructor) to arrange a mutually convenient time for her to have a ride. However, as you did not do this, we assumed that your daughter had changed her mind and was happy watching and feeding the rabbits and Guinea pigs instead. We do provide guests with some basic cleaning supplies, such as Cif bathroom and kitchen sprays, sponges and air freshener which are kept in a kitchen cupboard. As the cottage is cleaned thoroughly by our cleaner before guests arrive, we find that visitors rarely need to do any further cleaning during their stay. However, if guests do require additional cleaning supplies, or would like the cottage cleaned again (during longer stays) we are always happy to oblige, when asked. The cottage is heated with storage heaters, which we appreciate that some people may be unfamiliar with using. Instructions for the operation of these are in the information folder (found on the living room table) and we are always available to provide further assistance, if required. Many of our guests comment on how warm and cosy the cottage is using this heating system. There are also additional blankets in the blanket box and hot water bottles on a hook in the bedroom should these be required. There is always someone available to attend to our guests needs 24 hours a day and we pride ourselves on our customer service. However, as you did not make us aware of your issues during your stay, we did not know that anything was wrong. If you felt uncomfortable raising issues with us directly, you could also have contacted, who would have passed on your concerns to us. If we had been aware of these problems, we are confident that we could have rectified them and made your holiday the relaxing and pleasurable experience you were expecting. Please accept my sincere apologies for your disappointment. As a gesture of good will, we would like to offer your daughter a free half hour pony trek the next time you are visiting the area.

The cottage could be lovelybut a few thins needed updating. The oven was useless grill didn't work & only 1 ring worked. The table & chairs were falling apart & dangerous & very dirty.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay with us. We follow up on the comments we receive and use these to continually improve the service that we provide for our guests. We are sorry to hear that you found the kitchen appliances inadequate. We have checked these and have found them to be in full working order. However, from now on we will show our guests how to operate the oven, grill and hob when they arrive in addition to providing written instructions in our information folder. Hopefully this will prevent others from having difficulty operating them. If you had asked, we would have been more than happy to have assisted you with the use of these appliances during your stay. I have passed on the comments you made regarding the furniture to the cottage cleaner. As expected, she was upset that you found the tables and chairs dirty as she prides herself on the high standard of cleanliness in the cottage. However, she has given the furniture a thorough cleaning since your visit and has also inspected this for damage. We are pleased that you referred to the cottage as ‘lovely’ and hope that we will see you again in the future.
