We loved this cottage which was very comfortable well equipped. The location was rural and very quiet. There were plenty of places to visit and some nice pubs within a reasonable driving distance. The owners were pleasant and had left us some supplies in the kitchen. The only negative was the A1 which is a nightmare road to cross. Once we found our way round the local lanes we managed to avoid it.

Stayed for almost three weeks in June 2017 while on a study trip based in Grantham. Terrific place to stay, on quiet roads (usually) out of town. Some great pubs only a few minutes away, but the fully equipped cottage meant it was easy to cook at home should you with. Everything you need - except the internet can't be relied on.

Nice cottage full of anything you might need, even a picnic basket and blanket. The location is good, not too far from A1 to explore the surroundings. Jean and her husband are very kind and unintrysive.

We loved Ostlers Cottage from the moment we arrived to a very warm & genuine welcome from Jean. Lovely welcome pack (wine, Lincolnshire cheddar cheese & posh biscuits along with milk, chocolate biscuits). The garden is an orchard, which was perfect for our cockapoo Lottie, the apple blossom was out, and we were surrounded by lambs & sheep & skylarks. Beautiful rural setting, very peaceful but the cottage had everything we needed for a great week's holiday. Two bedrooms & two bathrooms, lovely big comfortable sitting/dining room. We have been renting cottages for the best part of 10 years, and this was definitely the best for us plus our dog. Lots of places to visit & close to Lincoln. We would love to return in Spring next year.

Fantastic cottage with everything we needed plus lots of nice extra touches. The internet connection was somewhat hit and miss depending upon whether the TV was on. But overall a lovely place to stay and we will definitely be returning soon.

A lovely cosy cottage, complete with everything we needed and very warm welcome with good welcome pack. We were staying over New Year and it was nice to have a decorated Christmas tree. Just two small negatives were the shower in one bedroom would go cold sometimes and there was no owners folder with local info. and recommendations, although there was lots of tourist information leaflets.

We stayed here over Christmas and Mr and Mrs Townsend really went the extra mile to make our Christmas special with the tree and decorations which was lovely even bringing us mince pies and brandy butter which was very nice. The cottage was lovely and welcoming and very well equipped plus had everything we needed to make our stay prefect and comfortable and we would love to stay again it was perfect and the family were lovely. We would highly recommend this cottage for a warm welcome and relaxing stay. The Wardle Family

Good facilities, in the middle of nowhere! On a working farm, so geese, chickens and sheep around; also well-behaved dog. Two good-sized bedrooms, both en suite [one with bath and shower, other with shower]. If the two single beds in one of the rooms could be converted into a double it would be even better. Kitchen and utility room fine. We didn't use the wood-burning stove in the living room as weather was warm. Nearest supermarket is on way to Newark [others in the town itself] - a relatively short drive. Owners next door, and very helpful.
