Stunning scenery

Only 4 miles from the historic city of Stirling, yet hidden away in a truly magnificent and peaceful rural scenery means a perfect location for year-round holidays. Osprey Hideaways overlook the owners’ private 120-acre loch where ospreys can be seen feeding most days in season. 300ft high cliffs frame the far side of the water, making the views genuinely stunning. All the cottages are furnished to a very good boutique standard and provide excellent accommodation for couples or family groups. Everything is provided, a bottle of champagne, fresh fruit and flowers on arrival to lovely linen, towels, bathrobes - and even slippers! There is even an honesty room where you can borrow books, a huge selection of DVDs, games, toys and visitor information. The owners’ live on site and are there to help as much (or as little) as you want. Each cottage has been named after birds that are regularly seen and are perfectly located to enjoy the best of both worlds at any time of the year - the peace of the countryside and the amenities and activities of the city. As well as being only 4 miles from Stirling city centre, it’s only 5 miles to the motorway junction for quick journey times to Edinburgh, Perth and Glasgow and all their facilities. Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park is 20 miles away and the mountains to the north or the beautiful sea lochs to the west are all within a 2 hour drive. There are numerous golf courses locally and even the Gleneagles course is only 35 minutes’ away. For walks the choice is endless and one of the best cliff-top walks in central Scotland starts right at the cottages! It’s the perfect location for anglers, with fly fishing on the private loch and numerous other waters for game and coarse fishing very close by. Stirling is a vibrant but compact, university city offering wonderful attractions, including an incredible castle, the amazing Wallace Monument, the historic Church of the Holy Rude and even ghost tours. There are restaurants to suit all tastes, swimming pools, sport centres, multiplex cinema, theatre, museum, pubs and shops. The perfect place for the perfect holiday! Second visit to the cottage. We have stayed in many cottages all over the UK - this is the best!

Wonderful location.....we felt in the countryside but so close from the city centre. Exceptionally warm welcome with something for everyone in the family - from a lovely dolls house we discovered under the stairs for my 2 year old daughter to play USB sockets on the TV making movie watching easy!

A great welcome by George and a fantastic away from home experience; the welcome pack was much more than we expected and well thought out. The 'honesty' room gave access to a lot of information and DVD'd which we used and appreciated as was a lot of further help and advice from George. A great time - we appreciated the views of the loch from the bedroom and lounge during the changing sunlight conditions. Well done Morag and George! Lynn

More more meeting my expectation of a holiday cottage. Beautiful view from the bedroom across the field and reservoir. It's clean and well equipped. Oner lives on site, and is extremely helpful, including a whole lot of free welcoming goodies like milk, cheese, biscuits.

We stay in cottages around 5 times a year and this was one of the best we have ever stayed in. The owner was very helpful and we will certainly return in the future. The only issue for us was the bathroom was downstairs and not convenient during the night especially when you have young children. The other Cottages were also excellent and would have got over this minor issue.

Cottage is comfortable, clean and has stunning views. It is in a rural location but has easy access for Stirling, Glasgow & Edinburgh.
