Enjoyed our week long holiday here. WiFi was the biggest issue for us and our teenage daughters. It was very slow and intermittent. To be fair, the owner did say he'd upgraded but 'daisy-chaining' from the far end of the property probably needs to be addressed. Cottage was very warm and comfortable. Sloping ceilings in the main bedroom and bathroom took a while getting used to and we'd much prefer a screen on the shower in the wet room arrangement downstairs. Otherwise, happy to recommend especially for its proximity to Pateley Bridge.

Nice cottage with spacious bedrooms and a big open plan downstairs that's great for hanging out in. It's a bit of a walk into the village (15mins) but it's a nice walk along the river. The biggest issue we had is with finding the place. The current instructions are not clear and miss some obvious information, e.g. you have to go up a track for at least 100m to find the property so it's really not obvious from the road. Also the instructions reference the name of the school that is out of date.

The cottage was well equipped, clean and comfortable. It had a very spacious feel and the 4 poster gave it a touch of luxury.

We were very unhappy with the management of the cottage. As there are several things to comment on, I will address these separately.Generally the cottage itself is nice but has been very poorly maintained, things like heating & electrics don;t work properly and it is very badly equipped.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; I totally object to the content of this review, it does not in any way represent an accurate picture of Orchard Cottage. The electrics and heating do work and the cottage is very well equipped. There is a store of spare light bulbs in the cottage which the guest used to replace bulbs which unfortunately failed during their stay – this does not warrant the comment that the electrics do not work. The boiler failed during the guests stay but as soon as this was drawn to my attention, it was fixed within one hour. Again this does not warrant the customers comment that the heating does not work. Please look at our feedback from previous guests for more realistic comments, often attaining high scores on a regular basis.
