Beautiful from the outside and fabulous location. However overwhelming smell of damp inside and there seemed to be water under the floor of the downstairs toilet. Some plumbing issues meant difficulties with water pressure and the shower would suddenly turn freezing or boiling with no warning, would be quite a risk with children and there's no bath. Fairly well equipped with all the basics. Owner didn't know how to use the hob. The microwave is sited above eye level on top of washer and oven, so difficult to get hot things out of. Would have been nice if they cleaned up in the corners and got rid of all the webs and spiders.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for bringing the damp issue to our attention. It was a small leak from the overflow which took a short time to fix. We were disappointed that you found the need to give us such a low review. Any maintenance brought to our attention we live on site would have been acted on promptly as our priority is the well-being of our guests. Regarding the webs and spiders it is possible that the occasional harvest spider may find its way in and again would have been dealt with immediately if brought to our attention. The instructions for the new hob top are sited in full view, The microwave can easily be moved if required but is situated to leave more space on the worktops. We are delighted that you found the location and outside of the property beautiful.

Due to being busy I rang on the Friday to let the lady no the time of arrival I said about five o'clock debening on the traffick. We arrived at five thirty five I rang the house as we could not find it with no reply 3 times when I did get a reply she said that she had things to do after five o'clock and ignored both of us all week not a very good start to the holiday But her husband was very polite and helpful

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: We advise all our guests to contact us if arriving after 5.00pm as we have horses and animals to attend to after this time. With prior arrangements we can work around this and make sure someone is here for arrival. A call to you was made after 5.00pm but unfortunately went to voicemail. We also advise guests when in the immediate area to switch off the Sat.Nav to avoid getting lost. We are easy to find. I apologise if you seemed ignored but can assure you this was not the case as looking at other feedback comments this is far from the case.

Lovely cottage in a good location. A warm welcome, and the fire was on when we arrived to warm us after a long drive. Plenty of leaflets to give information on places to visit that were very helpful. The little touches of flowers and biscuits made us feel at home. We hope to return sometime in the future.

A very warm and friendly welcome from the owners Mr and Mrs Dutton, great location for walking and the lovely surrounding area, our first visit to Tintagel , a pleasant walk of about 3/4 mile into the small town. We were very lucky with the weather considering we visited in early November, sat out on the balcony with a glass or two of wine. Orchard Cottage is cosy and comfortable and well equipt ,definately hope to re visit , highly recommended.
