This cottage was of a very high standard. It was modern, warm and cosy. Would definitely return. We received a lovely welcome pack and made very welcome by David and Co. They have done a beautiful job of renovating the cottage. Look forward to coming back hopefully this year. Thank you.

The cottage was well appointed and certainly exceeded my expectations. The owner was probably one of the best I have had the pleasure of dealing with, friendly and responsive to any queries I had. The Welcome pack was brilliant and the content (breakfast/drinks) was first class. Although there isnt a garden, you can walk towards the back and on to some farm land where you can see horses and sheep, which is great for the kids. Only gripe was the nearby graveyard, which is perhaps not the view one would want from the bedroom window. Only the whole however, a lovely cottage run by lovely people.

The welcome from Amy was lovely. The owners seemed very nice and the food in the Butcher's Arms was great. The welcome groceries package was excellent and a very nice touch. The slatted beds were not the most comfortable or supportive for my back which is why I have not given ten out of ten as the rest of the furniture in the house was of a high standard. The cottage was in a great location for exploring the area. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

On the good side, the conversion was excellent - very well done to a very high standard. Loved the kitchen and felt it was all done with great taste and with a lot of thoughtfulness. Very well equipped and very easy to live in and keep tidy. The pub next door (owned by the cottage landlord) was good with tasty food and good beer on tap. It was a popular place for people to eat and good that we were never disturbed by noise from customers leaving. We did eat there once and enjoyed the meal. I was staggered to find that there were no windows with views and no garden (use of beer garden did not appeal!). During my stay it rained for much of the time and because there was nowhere to sit with a view I quickly found the cottage claustrophobic and felt I had to go out whereas I had hoped to do a lot of reading and reflecting at the cottage itself. This was a great disappointment. It was also tough that the cottage opened straight on to an off-road parking area and was next to a graveyard (the latter was the view from the only upstairs window) - hardly the 'rural retreat' we had hoped for. I feel these things should have been clearer in the description and the photo. In our view, this was a VERY expensive cottage (and this is true even though we got a £100 discount for a late booking!) - perhaps if it had been less expensive the disadvantages would not have mattered so much as I am, by nature, good at making the best of things. By comparison, I have booked four of us on a trip of 4 days in Krakow, Poland (including air fares and accommodation) for less than the cost of this cottage even with the discount!

The cottage was beautifully appointed and very comfortable and relaxing with all you could need for a holiday. The Butchers Arms next door served varied, wholesome and tasty meals and the owners who also own the cottage were very welcoming.
