Loved this place, absolutely gorgeous! In the middle of fields surrounded by sheep and cows, it's peaceful and idyllic. Cannot recommend this place enough! We went with our six month old and it was fine for her.

The cottage is in a great location with easy access to the Pennines, Lakes and Dales. We loved our stay here, surrounded by sheep, bunnies, cows and other wildlife. The views from there were amazing, the cottage has everything you need. The hot tub is brilliant after a day out exploring. If you want a nice relaxing break away from it all, this is the place to come.

A lovely cottage with beautiful views and perfect for a quiet break away. The hot tub was worth every penny. The owner was very accommodating especially as we booked with only 24 hours notice. We will defiantly be back to the Old Pennistone.

Absolutely top cottage - definitely one of the nicest i've been to. Its clear a lot of effort and thought has been put in to make the stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. And the views are priceless!! I would just suggest that they get a better mattress for the double bed. the hot tub was amazing! it was really clean and nice, we could just sit in it for hours enjoying the view. top stuff - would definitely recommend it.

Great cottage in a remote setting and only a few minutes off the A66, there is a distant sound from the road but nothing too serious. The cottage itself is comfortable and well equipped. We made use of the hot tub which was lovely and relaxing and was great after a busy days walking. Set in fields the surrounding area is rural with sheep, cows and rabbits all in abundance. Kirkby Stephen is a short drive as is Brough castle, both worth a visit, Penrith is just over half an hour by car and also worth a visit. One other area worth a visit is Sedburgh which is a lovely drive with stunning views and a pretty village, again just over half an hour by car.

Old Pennistone is the perfect place to unwind and escape the stress and strains of a busy life. It is approached by a private lane and you are often escorted to the cottage by the local sheep. The cottage is on it's own, your only neighbours are sheep and rabbits. There is an abundance of wildlife including curlews, oyster catchers and birds of prey. The cottage is always immaculate and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The hot tub is a real treat and worth every penny. I'll be coming back!

A fantastic cottage. Clean and well presented. Great location, beautiful surroundings. Feels like you're in the middle of nowhere yet the main road isn't far. The cottage is spacious and comfortable and it makes you feel so relaxed. The hot tub is amazing, well worth the extra money. I loved relaxing in it while looking out at the beautiful views. Didn't want to come home!

Had a fantastic stay in this cottage. Facilities were superb and the views and location were amazing. Well equipped with everything you need for a chilled out and relaxing stay. The hot tub is absolutely worth paying extra for and gives you the perfect spot to take in the views whatever the time of day or weather :-) Unfortunately there are not any villages within walking distance but some definitely worth exploring by car - Brough, Kirkby Stephen and Barnard Castle were our favourites. Will definitely come back again.
