Description

Star gazers with love this traditional stone cottage in Dark Sky area, stunning views of Waterstein Head and Moonen Bay.

The cottage is lovely, very spacious, but cosy too. We had some wild weather during our stay, but staying in was a pleasure too so we weren't too disappointed by the wind and horizontal rain. We were lucky enough to have a couple of clear nights, including the meteor shower which was breath taking! Local shop in Glendale was really well stocked and the staff were delightful.. Owner was charming when we called for key box code, great start to the holiday compared to previous experience. We only marked down the value for money slightly as we normally don't holiday in the peak season and found the price high by comparison to off season, but that was our choice. Cottage was lovely and clean and we highly recommend it.

Superb in every way except badly need electric shower. After 5 of us have walked for hours and need bath/shower, only enough water for 2. Especially needed for 2 dirty boys.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your lovely comments - the cottage is indeed superb in every way. We don't advertise a shower and it would be impossible to fit one as the cottage is a one and a half story traditional croft cottage built at the turn of the last century. There are many properties around the island that are modern and have electric showers so guests can weigh this up prior to booking whether the property would be suitable for them. The water and the storage radiators are switched on five times a day in response to a wireless signal from Scottish Hydro. It is a large bath with a shower attachment. I hope this answers your query/complaint.
