Lovely cosy and comfortable cottage with wildlife friendly grounds. Our hostess was friendly and helpful and the cream tea was a lovely gesture. we would certainly visit again.

We had a very plesant stay and found our hosts Brenda and Alan very welcoming, and loved the welcome pack of scones, cream and jam etc. Kitchen was well equiped and location was easily able to explore the surrounding area and North Devon. If wifi is important then this will be a problem as this is not available, and the TV was a tad old fashioned and needed retuning regularly - though this was advised to us when shown around. There is a farm next door - so if farm odour is not for you then this may not be the stay for you, however we didn't find it a problem we just didn't want to eat in the outside area. Lay out good although may not be suitable for the younger child (toddler age) due to the stairs and bathroom access off the stairs. A cottage with Character and history.

Stay was lovely, pretty cottage but no internet or wifi is an issue in this day and age - restaurant bookings, google maps, planning your days, making phone calls (no signal either for mobile - no an issue if there was wifi).

We had a great holiday in Old Hammets. The cottage is ideal located for visiting the many beautiful places nearby. (in the house is plenty information) For example Clovelly, Heartland Quay, Hartland Abbey, Docton gardens etc. After our trips we loved relaxing in this clean, comfortable, cosy house or in the beautiful garden at the front. The entrance is at the back. We felt at home. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Warning for tall (2 meter) persons: the house has low ceiling beams. One of our family bumped his head several times.

The accommodation is ok, settee and arm chair small and uncomfortable, heating and hot water controlled by main house so we were sometimes left with no heating for days and not enough hot water, had to boil a kettle to wash up! Next to cow shed so could be a bit pongy at times too.
