Excellent place to stay, very comfortable, very quiet. Perfect for bird watchers. Lovely addition of home made biscuits, wine, apple juice and milk, thoughtful.

Lovely accommodation. Lovely situation. All equipment provided was first class. So nice to have the welcome pack. We will definitely be returning in the near future. If we had to comment on anything it would just be to mention the level of lighting in the kitchen and dining area could be a bit better - other than that perfect.

We spent a fantastic week at the Old Dairy Barn. The kids (8,11,13) enjoyed the surrounding area and the sheep all around while we relaxed and took in the marvellous views. We were welcomed by the owner David, who was a really friendly and helpful host. He had set up a small welcome package with apple juice, milk and home-made biscuits, which made us feel at home right away. The house is well equipped with everything you need, and there also was a large variety of information brochures and maps which really helped us to get around easily. The location itself is such a perfectly quiet place. But within a half-an-hour car drive, you can visit terrific places like Hastings, Battle or the beach at Camber Sands. Walking across the meadows, you can reach the truly beautiful town of Rye within 20 minutes and stroll around there or visit one of the many places to eat or get some drinks. We highly recommend "The Globe Marsh Inn", which is the first pub you´ll see in Rye (on Military Road). It offers delicious, fresh food and a variety of great local ales.

A cottage set in an idilic location, surrounded by nature. Simply amazing. The cottage itself comes with everything that you could need, although there are a couple of issues. The large bedrooms mattress is awful. The lack of sleep as a result did spoil the holiday slightly. The fridge was nowhere near adequate enough for our party of two children and 4 adults. It was a struggle to fit all our necessaries in. Definitely a larger fridge required. Overall a lovely cottage in an amazing location. Just a little updating would make this place perfect.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner:- Hi Andy Many thanks for your feedback. We are really very sorry that you didn’t sleep so well during your visit. All of our beds and mattresses are luxury Hypnos, known for their very high quality; they are pretty much the best you can buy. They are all barely a year old, so in excellent condition. I guess that we all like different types of bed and I‘m so sorry that your bed wasn’t to your liking. If you come again, and we very much hope that you do, we also have an additional mattress-topper that we could add and that might suit you better. Thanks also for your comments on the fridge. I think it’s the first time that someone has said that the fridge and separate freezer aren’t enough, but we will definitely monitor this to see what others think and review in the future. We send apologies again that you were inconvenienced. Thank you for your thoughts and thanks very much for staying at Old Dairy Barn. David and Sandi

The Old dairy Barn rye, was an excellent holiday home to explore the surrounding area with excellent views from the front and rear gardens. The home had everything you could need with an excellent kitchen and the luxury of each bedroom having there own on suite. The owner was very friendly , we would diffidently stay here again if we go back to that area.

Wonderful quiet countryside location but only a few minutes from Rye and easy access to local attractions in Sussex and Kent Well laid out accommodation with a spacious well equipped kitchen and large living area and all bedrooms were en suite with ample storage space Also had well fenced large front and rear gardens - ideal for young children plus 3 parking spaces The only downside was the access lane from the road which was badly rutted but taken slowly and with care it was passable

We had a lovely holiday in this very comfortable cottage. It is very peaceful and very well equipped, with some great walks from the front door. We also loved the goodies that David & Sandi left for us when we arrived. We can't wait to plan our next visit. Thank you.

We are a group of five friends that holiday together twice a year. We liked the Old Dairy Barn so much that we've already booked again for next year. (we rarely book the same place twice). It's warm, spacious well planned out & had everything that we needed. The owner was really helpful and was there to greet us and show us around and went out of his way to ensure we had some phone numbers that we needed during our stay. The showers are fantastic and we couldn't fault the cleanliness of the barn. The one and only thing that I will do different next year is take our 4x4 as the track to the accommodation wasn't great for my low sporty car, with that said, we loved the fact that the Old Dairy Barn was rural and out of the way.
