These delightful, single-storey cottages are located on the outskirts of Alkham, a quaint countryside village in Kent. Consisting of three cottages, Horseshoe Cottage (ref UKC410), Dairy Cottage (ref UKC409) and Saddler’s Cottage (ref UKC408), this is a great location for families and friends to enjoy a fun filled holiday in the Kentish country. Met with a very warm welcome by Mark the owner. Property spotlessly clean. Ajoining areas all securely fenced to keep you dogs safe. We are definitely going back.

The cottage was faultlessly clean and there is everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The only downside was although the cottage allows dogs, we were not allowed to leave our dog unattended. This is the first time we have had this issue and I always ask first. This curtailed our outings to local historical sites during inclement weather.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We always welcome dogs into our cottages but always insist that dogs should not be left unattended. This policy is stated on all dog friendly properties on the Cottages.com website and is clearly displayed within the cottages.

We had an excellent & relaxing long weekend at Horseshoe Cottage. Enjoying great views over the fields from the living room & bedroom, with the wood burner & underfloor heating keeping us plenty warm enough in freezing conditions outside. The cottage was well appointed with all mod-cons, cooking equipment etc too. Digital radio, decent flatscreen & wifi too. Just 10-15 mins drive from both Folkstone & Dover it was well situated, with stunning views from the top of cliffs 10 mins away too. Many thanks to Mark & Sue, especially when Mark picked us up from Folstone in his 4x4 when our car got stuck in the snow. We enjoyed a nice evening at the cottage & Mark kindly dropped us back in the collect the car the following day when the snow & ice had thawed. Nothing seemed like too much trouble at all. Highly recommended!

Such a nice, welcoming cottage. We were all so comfortable here and will be back later on in the year. The beds will give you a very good sleep, the underfloor heating is lovely and the showers are really good. I strongly recommend this cottage. We came as a family but it would suit all groups.

One of the best in the book! You will not find a better equipped 'cottage' than this. One of the best appointed cottages we have stayed in. Everything is of the highest quality. The , admittedly small for this particular cottage, garden is totally secure for dog owners and there are good doggy walks straight out of the door. Very comfortable, plenty of space, decent shower and TV.

We had a relaxing pre-Christmas week with our little dog in Horseshoe Cottage which we thoroughly enjoyed. Of course the weather could have been better, but it was December! There is lots to explore in the area, and the coast is only a 10 minute drive away. There are plenty of places to walk the dog, and the wood burner came into its own every evening as we snuggled down to watch the TV. The cottage is very well equipped, although we felt a coat rack would have been useful. All the fitments are of a high standard, and the beds are particularly comfortable.

Really lovely cottage where the owners had fully equipped the place. Everything was new and clean. The only snag was trying to find the place in the dark! It is rather remote.
