Not homely but functional and clean - perhaps better for a stag or hen weekend. However it suited us for location and budget. As we were older folk we were pleased to have the extra loos and showers. The lighting in the reception areas was poor. A few replacement light bulbs might have helped! We moved a couple of bedside table lights downstairs in the day to help.

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are sorry to see you were disappointed by our house. We try to ensure that it is clean, well equipped and comfortable; it is difficult with such a large house to tailor it to everyone's requirements. We would have been happy to come round if you had let us know you had problems to try and resolve them for you, there are also spare bulbs in the cupboard by the back door. We are pleased you managed to adapt the house by bringing down some bedside lamps to augment the lighting down stairs and hope that you still enjoyed your break.

Comfortable, clean, warm and welcoming. The view from the back is beautiful, the walk along the local canal gorgeous (even in the rain). Stroud's farmer's market is recommended as is the town's Ale house (12 local(ish) beers on tap and all well kept). We had a lovely, relaxed weekend and would stay again.

It is a really nice place and we had great time. We were group of 14 people and enjoyed our stay. Lounge and dinning areas are big highlights. Kitchen is bit odd but serves the purpose very well.

A cottage that has everything that a large party of people would need. There were twelve adults, three children and a dog in our group and there was space to spare. A great weekend away.

A good place to stay for a large group as there are plenty of beds and bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen as well so catering for large numbers is easy. Very close to beautiful countryside and local towns.

We had a lovely family get together weekend and the house was perfect for this, with our party of 13. Plenty of comfortable seating indoors and out, and the dining room was a super size. The kitchen was excellently equipped and very clean, and the pool table was good fun. The only criticism was perhaps little soaps could have been provided in the toilets. (there were plenty !!) The walk into Stroud along the canal was lovely.

Oakfield is a nice property ,useful for big groups, the kitchen was very well equipped and the large dining room good for large family meals and celebrations. Some of our party found it abit noisy with some bedrooms situated next to the road. It does state wheelchair access which is accurate but unfortunately there wasn't a downstairs shower only a bath which for those with poor mobility, wasn't great. The garden was lovely, very safe for children and dogs and good for a barbeque, there was an ample amount of nice outdoor furniture and the views are lovely. There is a pool table which is great especially for teenagers. There are 2 shower rooms stairs as well as 2 bedrooms having ensuite bathrooms so no queues for the shower and each room as a toilet.
