Description

Whitby just 3 miles, take the steam train through the Esk Valley to the Heartbeat villages of Goathland and Grosmont.

Charming period cottages

Dating back to the 17th century, these Grade II listed cottages are bursting with period charm and character, including some low beams and doorways. Close to Sandsend and the beach, they nestle cosily in the village just a short stroll to the friendly village pub and shop. Lythe village is perfectly placed for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and the Jurassic Coast of Yorkshire with quaint fishing villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay just a few miles away. The ancient sea port of Whitby is 3 miles, and from here you can board the steam train and take a memorable journey through the stunning Esk Valley into ’Heartbeat’ villages of Goathland and Grosmont. A must when visiting this area is Robin Hood’s Bay, whilst award-winning beaches, cliff top walks and stunning moorland with quaint little villages tucked away, are all within easy reach of these charming holiday cottages. Lovely cottage but right on the main road and traffic noise a problem if you like a lie in when on holiday.

Lovely stay for a week at the cottage. Really relaxing and pleasant, convenient to access all areas of North Yorkshire and close to sands end beach. Lots of good local food to. Access as well such as The Ellerby Pub and local shop does lovely breakfast sandwiches.

The cottage was good for a long weekend but hard going with a baby and a disabled person.

Disappointed with the Stiddy but that's not the fault of the cottage owners, otherwise another great stay.

A quirky little cottage in a beautiful village. We enjoyed sitting by the open fire drinking mulled wine following a walk to Sandsend. We spent New Year here and had a fabulous night in the pub next door where we were made so welcome.

Cottage was amazing, well above what we were expecting. Local shop and pub excellent. Short bus ride in Whitby very frequent. Would definitely stop again
