Lovely cottage, will return next year. Lovely location - you are in real farming country. Just had to have the fire going even though it was warm, and loved the roll-top bath - though i am a larger lady and did have a bit of a fight to get out of it, but i didnt mind because I loved it so much. Excellent!!

Take note that the cottage is on a busy main road and traffic noise is intrusive, the owners have tried to suppress this with heavy curtains however if you need quiet to sleep this isn't the place for you. Car parking is a bit confusing as you seem to have to use either the pub car park or the village hall which didn't sit comfortably with me so parked on the road opposite with no issues. Other than these two points the cottage is perfect, well equipped, maintained to a high standard and spotlessly clean. The location of the village is a great base to explore Whitby and the surrounding area. If you are looking for a place which has good transport links the buses through the village are very regular and always on time,

A lovely stay, hot water can be a little dangerous and might be helpful to have a non-slip surface in the bath, (for the little people!) Generally a great stay. Thank you.

Overall its a lovely cottage very well equipped ( extra tea towels would be handy) very clean too.It was lovely to have a pint of milk as well as tea, coffee to welcome you.The decor is dated as is some of the furniture and the mixture of pictures lets it down somewhat.Although its not the owners fault the road is a very busy one and if you have light sleepers staying then it won't be suitable. If I wasn't a light sleeper then I would stay at the cottage again the location was brilliant and i would recommend it.

very pleasant & well equipped. We stayed in April and it was very cold. The log burner was great but the bedrooms could have done with some additional heating

A lovely property full of character, clean and welcoming. An ideal location if you drive. Due to the age of the property there is no double glazing so there is some traffic noise and unless you use the wood burner in cold weather it is a little cool however neither of these issues were significant enough to prevent us staying here again. I would happily recommend this cottage to friends and family and would also recommend the Stiddy pub next door for a good value meal and friendly welcome.
