A very lovely cottage probably the best we have stayed in.

This is a lovely cottage, in a great location. My husband and I both have hip problems and found the settee in the sitting room quite low down, so difficult to get up from. Also the steps down to the kitchen were an added nuisance, not the owners or the cottages fault, just how it is, and how we are! Overall a great cottage, but unfortunately, not somewhere we would be able to stay again, which is a shame.

Oak Dene is a pretty cottage that has been sympathetically renovated. It is cosy but spacious. It is comfortable and homely but elegantly furnished and decorated. It has a dog-proof floor throughout the ground floor and a big garden for dogs to run around. We were warmly greeted by the owner who showed us around on our arrival. She had left a cream tea and the ingredients for a cooked breakfast, including bread and milk. Not only that but we kept finding little chocolate treats. There was also a dog basket with a towel, bowl, brush and details of the local vets, if needed. A lovely touch. We had everything to make this a relaxing week even with two lively dogs.

The most relaxing cottage ever. So near to all amenities and so central but feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. The underfloor heating, together with open fire and log burner, makes it the most idyllic cottage to stay in the deepest of winter. Constant hot water, beautifully soft bath SHEETS not large hand towels like so many other cottages. Not only that we were welcomed with flowers, wine, cream tea, bacon, sausages, eggs, milk and bread. No need for dressing gowns, bath robes and towelling flip flops are provided, together with soap, shampoo, shower gel, tissues. Highly recommend.
