This cottage is hard to beat for comfort and was well equipped even down to dog's bowl and biscuits. Garden was secure and off road parking perfect. Ideal location for visiting Liverpool's tourist sites and in our case family too. The village and people were very friendly with a park for walking the dogs just over the road. Lovely and warm cottage for January..we did not need to use the log fire. The spoilers to this lovely property was the noise...road traffic..airplanes..and the village hall next door.. having teenage girls running amok on the Saturday night we were there!

The cottage is conveniently located in a pleasent village setting. We did however find the traffic noise intrusive, not being used to it where we live. The cottage owners are lovely and friendly, and a couple of equipment issues were resolved extremely promptly. Would like a shower, but that's down to the age and shape of the building only!

Lovely cottage and very very welcoming for dogs. Only problem was the road noise in the morning in the main bedroom.

Excellent property in a great location. Fantastic garden and very dog friendly. We have stayed twice this year visiting relatives. Our only drawback is a personal one. My partner is very tall and cannot use the small bath and has to kneel in it to use the shower hose, which is a shame for him. Space is limited in the house, so this probably can't be helped. The bed is massive, however, and very comfy!

We really enjoyed our short stay at Oak Cottage. A beautiful old cottage in a delightful village. The cottage was clean, bright and well equipped. Everything you could need from a holiday cottage. Our dogs loved the delightful garden, lots of corners to explore! Owners were every friendly and welcoming and obviously took great pride in the property. Great to have the park across the road and some interesting walks near the lighthouse and adjoining fields. Next time we will stay longer!

Well equipped dog friendly location - we needed a dog friendly place to stay within easy distance of Prescot & Warrington to visit friends and relatives and this fitted the bill. The Park across the road and good walks from the door suited the dog and the kitchen was well enough equipped for us to cook a meal for visiting friends. Read other reviews complaining about traffic and aircraft noise but after the first day didn't really notice it. Garden could with a bit of a tidy and TLC also wasn't 100% secure for a curious Labrador with Houdini like tendencies but other than that no issues.
